Save this for later đź’ľ Full scene breakdown on how I filmed this shot. This shot has a lot of elements in it. The mist, lighting, feel everything just works together very well. I reversed the shot to add another element of emotion to the shot. The mist going up was ofcourse a resin to go viral but also matched really well to the audio I used in the original video. This was shot in 120fps and my iso was at 12800. And because I was using the Sony fx3 it was my second dual base iso. Which worked so well for me to get a clear shot without any noise in the image.

How I lit up this scene đź’ˇ Lighting can absolutely make or break a scene. In this particular scene I wanted to get a deep moody emotion. So I choose teal as my primary color and orange as my contrasting color. Teal and orange is an industry standard for that cinematic look. Once thing to keep in mind when pushing your colors to the extreme is to make sure your cameras white balance is set properly or else the colo will get extremely baked into the image and you will lose the image with no flexibility to color grade even when shooting in RAW.

Final video, RAW clip, & behind the scenes This video shows the raw clip, the final color grade, and the behind the scenes. Everything you’re watching was self-filmed by me, solo, using just a tripod and a very simple lighting setup. I also used AI for one of the scenes to show how powerful it can be when you blend real filmmaking with new tools. Then I color graded the footage to bring out the emotion I was trying to feel and make you feel it too. Every decision was intentional. This is why I believe self-filmmaking is the future. Indie filmmakers who can think differently, adapt fast, and create with limited resources are going to be in huge demand. If you want to learn my thought process, how I color grade, how I use AI in films, and how I plan and shoot everything by myself, I teach all of that inside my community. You also get a space to share your work, get feedback, and grow with other filmmakers. Link is in the bio.

Felt like capturing this deep emotion. Back in 2012 I had witnessed something that I remember to this day. And always wonder why they did it. I personally didn’t know the person but saw it happen from my building balcony. I remember my heart dropped I was alone at home and didn’t know how to feel. All I remember is I couldn’t breathe for like 2 mins. I always wondered what can push someone to do that to themselves. Me personally am extremely scared of death. Even the thought of it scares me. So how can someone willingly do that to themselves. Me personally I will be always there to talk to someone going through it. And trust me others would do the same. Life is beautiful.

This is just the reality. Way more fails than wins. Thats what makes taking control of your life so much harder than just following the system. Yes there is true happiness in the end for sure when you follow your dreams but in the meantime it gets complex af trying to navigate through everything I wasn’t taught as a young adult and now I have to figure it out on my own.

Real talk: I genuinely think the penguin knew exactly what he was doing. And that we should live life exactly how we want. If I want to quit my job and live life on my own terms, I should do just that. Regardless of my situation. When I quit my $100,000/year job to go to $0, I had about $600 left in my account. But I still took the risk. I was done waking up because some random person who happens to be my boss told me to come in and drive a bus. I also didn’t take into consideration how my actions would affect the people around me. I just did what my mind thought it wanted! I know a lot of people want to quit their jobs and chase their dreams, but they have responsibilities. Kids. Mortgages. Real life. How do they live life to the fullest? Do they have to sacrifice their dreams because of it? I’m not sure what the correct answer is. I just want your thoughts and your experiences in this situation!

I shot this entire film using just one light. No big production, no crazy gear, no crew. Just understanding cinematic lighting, shooting the shadow side, and using light and darkness to shape emotion. This film is about time. We all think we have it, but it’s constantly running out, and I wanted every frame to reflect that feeling. Every shot was intentional, every shadow had a purpose, and every scene was designed to push the story forward and connect to the next moment. In this breakdown, I show exactly how I filmed this using a one light setup, low light cinematography, and simple solo filmmaking techniques to make it feel cinematic without expensive cameras or lights. This is the stuff I teach inside my community, from filmmaking and cinematic storytelling to self-filming, lighting, sound design, and AI filmmaking. If you’re serious about elevating your content and actually creating films instead of overthinking gear, join the community and start building. I wanna see what you create, so use this, shoot something, and tag me.

Real talk: should we move in a rush to get what we want in life or move at a comfortable pace. I just don’t want to be old af and not have accomplished anything in life. But with that mentality I feel like I’m giving up on my life right now. The rush of chasing the dream everyday seems like a blessing. But I’m sure for people around me it’s not a pleasant experience. And sometimes I look back and realize how much I’m giving up just to maybe in the future “make it”, what if it doesn’t work out. And I’m old af wishing I really lived my life to the fullest while I was young. Let me know your thoughts below on this topic!

Most of my film ideas don’t start big. They start from something stupid, painful, or normal. What really brings this to life is sound design. The whispers, the tension, the hits, the silence, the timing. That’s how you turn a simple moment into a cinematic story. This is how I practice storytelling as a solo filmmaker. No crew. No crazy setup. Just intention, sound, pacing, and emotion. If you want to learn: self-filmmaking cinematic storytelling sound design for films color grading AI filmmaking and how to turn simple ideas into short films I teach everything inside my online community. What would you do in this situation?

When you raised someone, gave them love, shelter, a home. They grow up to hurt you. What would you do in this situation?

Would you try to save him, or would you stop him before he destroys everything?

If you want to learn how I filmed this follow the page. I will be posting the behind the scenes there.
