A fashion and beauty shoot for Dior Official ’s pre-fall collection 🐛 in FASHION Magazine ’s summer issue. See the 4th slide for lighting setup!

For this beauty and fashion photography shoot, the goal was to capture raw the juxtaposition between the hyper-crisp, static commercial focus of the whimsical Christian Dior x Eric Carle ‘Very Hungry Caterpillar’ shot and the kinetic, avant-garde motion blur of the others.

The lighting setup was the same for both actually. We were lucky enough to have a massive overhead skylight on a cloudy day and paired it with an Godox Europe AD600pro and beauty dish and another light with small reflector. This gave us a beautiful fill with a lovely hard light. All we had to do is decrease the shutter speed to go from that crisp commercial to the shutter drag effect.

Which discipline do you gravitate towards? The crips beauty work of slide one? Or the or the motion blur of the others?
