We drove out to get some shots of Austin fishing in the Murray River, but the Murray was high and fast, so we went in to the first of the Greg Duke Lakes. While we were hiking out, I loved the look of the grad cap attached to his pack, so I took this photo.

Hey instagram. Sorry I’ve been mia. In my other life I am the local reporter here in tumbler ridge and we are a town in grief right now. This is maya and her mom Cia. Maya was one of the few who was shot and survived, though it is still uncertain if she will survive. I am sorry for the break in photos, but my heart is with her as she fights to survive, with Stu as he deals with his grief, with j., and with everyone, both here and across the country and around the world who has been touched by this. Give me a few weeks and I might be back.

A few weeks back I went to check and see if moose lake had frozen over, because we hadn't got any significant snow. As I was driving out to the lake, it started to snow. Also, the hills were so icy I couldn't get there in the car, so probably no new lake skating shots for this year.
