Golden hour can give you two completely different galleries depending on how your photographer uses light ✨
Some images here were shot using only the sunset.
Others used flash with the sunset.
Neither is wrong…they just create different feelings.
No flash tends to feel…
-softer and diffused
-more cinematic
-more candid + atmospheric
Flash adds…
-more depth + separation
-cleaner skin tones
-a more editorial, crisp, polished feel
In my opinion, the biggest question isn’t “flash vs no flash.”
It’s whether your photographer knows why they’re choosing one over the other.
Because once the sun starts dropping, light changes every few minutes. A photographer who understands lighting can adapt quickly, shape the mood intentionally, and still preserve the feeling of the sunset without losing you in the shadows.
That’s the difference between someone who only shoots in pretty light… and someone who truly understands it.
