It was a seaside dream to photograph Amanda and Eu Wen who traveled all the way from Singapore to celebrate with their Canadian family and friends. 🥂 Who needs to leave the room for photos when this is your view from Jerico Tennis Club? Also, anyone else particularly obsessed with Amanda’s Roksanda gown? Because, same. Same.

A window into Jacie and Nick’s golden hour reception last weekend at The Teahouse in Stanley Park🫖 My cheeks still hurt from all the smiles. What a genuinely stellar group of people. Traci and I grew up five houses away from each other in Gaithersburg, Maryland. I have a vivid memory of 10 year old Lydia sitting on her carpet gushing about how Tara Lipinski had just won the US women’s figure skating gold medal at the 1998 Nagano Olympics. 🤭 In 2010, I photographed Traci and Kevin’s wedding. Since then, I’ve photographed them as the parents of two dogs and now the parents of the most precious Malia.

When people ask what type of photographer I am, I always say “people!”. But I should really say “relationships”. Because, hands down, what’s most meaningful to me about my job is the relationships. Whether it’s 10 hours on your wedding day or 10 years of photo sessions: thank you. 🥹 Thank you for swinging the door open to your heart and letting me into what are some of the most vulnerable and important moments of your life.

I remember the day I met Caitlin in middle school. We were at a party with a slip-n-slide. I couldn’t tell her and her twin Natalie apart yet but the three of us “triplets” would get into our fair share of tame Christian mischief in high school. Michael also went to that high school. In 2012, I did their engagement photos at this exact spot. 10 years later, we all returned to do a family session with their two girls (and, lets be honest, bask in the love of a recessive gene 👩🏻‍🦰). Same time, same place 2032.
