POV: you finally understand why photographers spend 3 hours “just editing” 😅

RAW file = what your camera sees 🤷
Edited image = what was always in my head 🧠💥

Retouching isn’t cheating — it’s finishing the job. Every pro does it. Every. Single. One.…mine just happens to include dancing cats and an explosion. 🐱💥

You’re welcome, internet.

Save this if you shoot in RAW and drop your editing app in the comments! 👇

I love this trend! 😂
How many views did it have when it reached you?

POV: You’re a professional photographer, not a criminal 😂

Holding up that colour checker card for test shots is giving full mugshot energy — all you need is a case number and a fluorescent light flickering overhead. But here’s the thing… it’s actually one of the most important steps before a shoot!

That little card helps your photographer nail perfect, consistent colour accuracy before a single “real” frame is taken. Skin tones, shadows, highlights — all dialled in before you’ve even smouldered at the lens. 🎨📸

So next time you’re asked to hold the card, just own it. You’re not under arrest. You’re just about to have the best photos of your life.

The Force was NOT with me on these takes. 💀📸

Obi-Wan Kenobi would never fumble this hard. I am not Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Happy Star Wars Day — here’s proof that even Jedi Masters need multiple shots. 🙏

These aren’t the bad angles you’re looking for. ✨📸

Obi-Wan Kenobi, but make it headshots. May the 4th be with you — and your LinkedIn profile. 🙏

📷 The moment I stopped “taking pictures” and started telling stories — everything changed.

Most people think photography is about having the right camera, the perfect lighting, or the most expensive lens. But here’s the truth nobody tells you: the greatest tool you own is how you feel the moment before you shoot. 🖤

Portrait and headshot photography isn’t about capturing what someone looks like. It’s about capturing who they are — their confidence, their vulnerability, their power. That one image can change how they show up in business, in life, in the way they see themselves.

That’s why this isn’t a job to me. It’s a calling.
Every session is a conversation. Every portrait is a collaboration. And every final image is proof that you were here, fully alive, in this version of yourself. 🌟
The camera just confirms what I already see in you.

📸 Photography isn’t something you just do — it’s something you see.

Once you pick up a camera, the world never looks the same. You start noticing the way light falls on a face at golden hour, the story hiding in someone’s eyes, the fleeting moment that no one else caught. That’s not a hobby. That’s a way of seeing.

As a headshot & portrait photographer, my job isn’t just to take photos — it’s to freeze the version of you that the world needs to see. Every frame is intentional. Every click is a decision. Every portrait tells a truth words can’t.

Photography teaches you patience, presence, and the art of human connection. It makes you slow down in a world that never stops rushing. 🌿

If you’ve ever felt something looking at a great portrait — that’s not accident. That’s craft. That’s life lived through a lens.

✨ Are you just taking photos, or are you truly seeing people?

“So what do you do for a living?” I shoot people with a 35mm and capture them forever. 📸

But actually — a 35mm refers to the focal length of my lens. It’s the sweet spot that mimics almost exactly what the human eye naturally sees. So when I say I’m capturing you… I mean you literally cannot escape looking like yourself. No filters. No excuses. Just pure, beautiful, slightly-terrifying reality. 😅

The “shoot” part? That’s the shutter releasing at anywhere from 1/60th to 1/4000th of a second — freezing a moment in time that can never be recreated.
So yes. I shoot people. I capture them. And I keep them… forever.

You’re welcome. Or sorry. Depending on how the lighting was. 🙏

📚 Mini Photography Lesson:
• 35mm = focal length, great for portraits & street photography
• Shutter speed = how long light hits your sensor
• The result = your face, immortalized, whether you blinked or not 😂

“Stand like you’re about to tackle someone.” 🏉

That’s literally how this session started — and look how it ended. ✨

Here’s the thing most photographers don’t talk about: your client has no idea how to pose. That’s not their job — it’s yours. When you walk into a shoot with zero direction, you get stiff shoulders, awkward hands, and a forced smile that screams “passport photo.”

The secret? Start with movement and energy, then pull it back.

Giving a ridiculous prompt like a rugby tackle instantly breaks tension, gets your client out of their head, and gives you raw, natural body language to work with. From there, you’re sculpting — adjusting the chin, softening the arms, shifting the weight. Small tweaks. Big difference.

Here’s the 3-step direction formula I use:

1️⃣ Give an energetic or silly prompt to loosen them up

2️⃣ Identify what’s working in their natural response

3️⃣ Refine from there — don’t start from scratch

Direction isn’t about making someone look like a model. It’s about making them feel comfortable enough to be themselves in front of your lens. When that happens, the camera does the rest.

Save this if you’re working on your client direction skills.

🔖 Drop a 💪 below if you’re going to try this prompt on your next shoot!

The secret to great headshots? Make them laugh first. 😂📸

When clients are stiff, nervous, or overthinking every expression — sometimes the best direction isn’t perfect posture cues or technical language. It’s a ridiculous voice that catches them completely off guard.

The moment they laugh, the tension leaves their body, their eyes light up, and that’s the shot.

You don’t have to be a comedian to connect with your clients — you just have to be willing to be a little silly. Direction doesn’t have to be serious to be effective. In fact, the more fun your clients are having, the more natural and authentic your images will be.

So go ahead. Use the weird voice. Be goofy. Make it a good time. Your clients will thank you — and so will their photos. 🎬✨
