Years ago in a class, an instructor analyzed ’s campaigns, highlighting how they meticulously controlled every single colour in their media. The lesson? Ideally, nothing in your frame should be accidental.

This is exactly why we use filters. They restrict the chaos, bringing random colours together into a unified “family group.” (And trust me, the deeper you dive into colour theory, the harder it gets! 🤯)

Every now and then, it’s vital to step outside your daily routine, dare to experiment, and just observe to practice more and more with colours.

Tell me: what is your absolute favourite colour combination?

Worried about looking stiff or not knowing what to do once you are in front of the lens?
You can see a sneak peek of how we use simple, organic elements during a session to take the pressure off. Posing through fabrics or leaves isn’t just for a cool effect, it gives us something to interact with, making the whole experience feel natural and effortless.

Hands can completely make or break an image, and they deserve a little extra attention. Here are 3 quick tips to keep in mind for your next shoot:
*Angles matter: Avoid showing the palms of your hands directly to the camera. Instead, turn them slightly to show the sides for a longer, more elegant look.
*Keep it feather-light: When touching your face, do it very gently. Pressing too hard can accidentally create unwanted bumps or wrinkles.
*Mind the gap: Watch the space between your fingers, keeping them relaxed but slightly separated looks the most natural.
Which of these tips are you going to try first? Let me know below!

The internet is flooded with posing guides and ideas, some influencers even sell them! But should a regular, non-model gal actually give them a try?

I’m a photographer, but I am definitely not a model. I’m in my 40s, at my heaviest weight ever, and I have never been flexible. Why am I sharing this? Because I know I’m not alone.
I’m a mom to a lovely five-year-old. Adjusting to motherhood took a toll on me that I’m still recovering from. Things are getting better, but you know what? I’m never going to be 20 again. I need to embrace and enjoy right now, because right now is all we have. Plus, testing these out means I can help clients with similar body types find poses they love, too!
Honestly, I surprised myself with a couple of these, especially the second one. When I pictured myself squatting down, I thought I would look crazy, but I actually loved the result! I might even get a real portrait of myself doing this pose later.

Have you ever tried following a posing guide?
What was your favorite pose?
