Because puppies deserve portrait photo shoots too ❀️.

This photo shoot took me on location to beautiful West Vancouver, to a lovely repeat client who wanted to create some portraits with her fur babies, as one of them is starting to get on in years.

It was a very fun afternoon of burning calories as I chased these little pups around like a member of the paparazzi πŸ˜‚. I kid- when it came down to it and it was time to get in front of the camera, they were little puppy rockstars πŸ’•.

And just like that baby girl is 3 months old ✨.

What is there to say except all of the cliches about sleep deprivation 🫠 and utter joy πŸ’– have proved completely true in my case.

And if we're being honest, I think I've also been in a little bit of shock the last few months since my daughter was born- my experience has been that there's so much that's still not discussed about the postpartum experience, even in 2025.

I hope to talk more about it, but that's a post for another day. For right now, I'll just say that it's wonderful to be back in the swing of things at the studio and doing what I love πŸ“Έ.

GROUP CORPORATE HEADSHOTS

I photographed these lovely folks on location at their
office a few months a (these photos are a small selection of peeps who
gave me permission to use their photos- in all, it was
a mid-sized group of about 25).

This was an especially fun one for me as it involved a
lighting set up that I had previously not worked with
before (i.e., using a ring light to achieve this aesthetic,
which was specifically requested by the client), but I
knew we'd be just fine with on the day.

Every single person in this team did a great job in front
of the camera (as everyone always does ❀) and I'm
thrilled to have gotten the opportunity to work with this
crew.

So I've been keeping a little secret...✨😊
..on social media at least (with my clients, as ever, I'm an open book in person and have told everyone I've photographed for pretty much the last 9 months that I'm pregnant πŸ˜†).

In truth, I've hesitated to announce anything officially on social media because I was afraid I'd lose out on job opportunities. But in reality, I've been nothing but humbled by how amazing people have been when I’ve told people I’m pregnant.

Like, seriously amazing.

I've learned that pregnancy is this huge thing that so many people have either experienced themselves or they've watched a loved one go through it and that there's a tremendous amount of empathy and understanding that comes as a result.

Even over the last month as I've gotten nearer my due date, when it's been necessary to tell people that bookings would have to include the possibility of a reschedule (or cancellation if that wasn't doable) if something medically-related were to come up, not one of my clients hesitated in booking me.

I have been truly blown away ❀.

But! back to the topic at hand- MATERNITY LEAVE...I am officially taking a short mat leave, but I am accepting bookings for April.

~ MOVEMBER ~

My beautiful client Natalie (who is herself an extraordinary photographer- please check her out at Natalie D'Angelo Photography) came in recently with her two gorgeous little girls for a portrait session.

In the last segment of the shoot, she brought out some moustaches to snap a few portraits in honour of Movember (a little context: November is Men's Health Awareness Month, and it's a time when the Movember Foundation raises awareness of and support for those tackling prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health issues, and su***de prevention).
