I love this guy’s hat. His old, leathery hands are pretty telling, too. Wandering the streets of rural Mexico is always fun, especially with a brown bag of liquid gold. El Salto, Nuevo Leon. Mid 2000’s.

Nick Elson, lawyer, climber, and mountain runner extraordinaire. This classy guy is a soft-spoken crusher with numerous FKT’s to his name. For more portraits of Squamish local heroes please check out my slideshow at the current Arc’teryx Climbing Academy currently running Aug 24 - 28, 2020. Of course, I encourage you to watch all four of the slideshows and you can VOTE for your favourite show! Link in Bio..

RIP Daisy. You were the sweetest, most loving, and most enthusiastic companion I could ever have dreamed of. You touched everyone you met and were the dog that made others get a dog. I will forever cherish the incredible 13 years we had together. Goodbye sweet friend. I love you.

I've had a great time here in Bishop, California over the past month. And after a few weeks of pulling on painful Tuff pockets in the Tablelands we went up to the subalpine (around 8000 feet) to sample the smooth, crisp granite of Rock Creek. What a treat! Here's Joel Faubert attempting Camel Love (V4). Can't wait to go back and climb / shoot more in this awesome Sierra playground. And those roof cracks lingering above at the Gong Show Wall? Whoa!!

Last week's Arc'teryx Climbing Academy was a tremendous success, and I had the great pleasure of being a part of the 2017 Photo Showdown alongside five other talented photographers including myself, Brad McArthur, Jimmy Martinello, Tim Banfield, John Price, and Kieren Brownie.

Each photographer was teamed up with an Arc'teryx climbing athlete and one "wild card" applicant to shoot local rock climbing for two days, and then turn in a three-minute slideshow presented last Saturday night. This was not easy, especially with rain in the forecast.

Now, YOU have the chance to vote for your favourite image from the event, as selected by each photographer. Please click on the link below and VOTE NOW for the People's Choice Award! You only have 2-days so don't hesitate to show some love for your favourite local photographers!
