So honoured to be a contributing photographer for the 9th auction for Canadian Conservation. Check out all the beautiful photographs being auctioned to help conserve Canadian wildlife and protect Canada’s wild spaces .

100% of the proceeds from the auction will be donated to . Exposed Wildlife Conservancy (EWC) is a registered charity dedicated to ethical, science-based solutions for wildlife management. Through education, support and advocacy, EWC helps Canadians coexist with apex predators like bears, cougars and wolves.

The team at EWC has secured a generous donor who will match the total contributions, meaning every print sold has twice the impact for Canada’s apex predators!

I am auctioning 2 prints of my favourite encounters with a young great horned owl. If you would like to bid on either of these prints, please leave a comment on this post or send me a message with your bid/s. This summer I spent a week with my family on the beautiful island of Aruba. It’s a picturesque island with endless activities to keep the most adventurous traveller occupied. But as I soon found out, tourism and land development have had a massive impact on the natural habitats of some of the islands most sensitive and beloved species. Meet Shoco, The Aruban burrowing owl. Sadly classified as an endangered species with loss of habitat, secondary poison and human introduced predators like dogs, cats and boas being some of their greatest threats. The Shoco is endemic to the island and Arubas national symbol. Local conservation efforts are attempting to raise awareness of the issues impacting both wildlife what remains of their threatened wild spaces. I had the privilege of documenting a few pairs of these charismatic critters while touring the island with a local guide. If you ever have the chance to visit Aruba, consider skipping the atv tours and replacing it with a guided tour of Arubas protected areas and national parks. You won’t be disappointed. The short time I spent with these owls left a lasting impression I won’t soon forget.

A bald eagle emerges from the shadows with something fishy caught between its talons. A feeding frenzy for a multitude of marine wildlife, and a visual feast for nature and wildlife enthusiasts. Just not quite as enjoyable if you were born into this world a hake.
