An incredible day full of great pride and emotion as I was honoured to receive and welcomed as one of the newest Fellows of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society.
As a proud Canadian having grown up reading Canadian Geographic and dreaming of visiting and photographing this amazing country of ours since I was a child, this is a realization of a long held dream that saw many changes, challenges, and ups and downs in recent years for me both personally and professionally. However through it all I’ve met, worked with, and built friendships with some of the most amazing people, travelled to every major city, province, and territory throughout this great nation of ours. I’m honoured to be listed among so many other amazing fellows.
Unfortunately I was unable to attend the ceremony in person in Ottawa today as I’m currently on route on assignment to Antarctica. However wanted to share the news and excitement.
Thanking both the RCGS society for the honour and George Kourounis for the nomination.
Please consider subscribing to this worthy magazine and organization to continue supporting the work and research done by the amazing Canadians who represent Canada all around the world.
All the best!!
The Royal Canadian Geographical Society was founded in 1929 with the important mandate of making Canada better known to Canadians and to the world.
