- hot tub, sauna, cold plunge… and repeat! That pretty much summed up our mid-week getaway. Slow, laidback, and ending the nights gazing at the stars right from bed through the glass roof, isn't it pure magic?

An unusual way for us to avoid the Vancouver ferry crowds, but we’re so glad we did it. A truly rejuvenating and recharging escape for both body and soul. Maitree and Jianna had an absolute blast… and so did I.

- as the summer months roll in, we’ve started checking off some of BC’s hidden brewery gems while following the BC Ale Trail. Powell River’s own Townsite Brewing became the perfect place to kick off our Summer 2026 journey.

We grabbed a flight and quickly found two favorites among the lineup - always the fun part of discovering a new brewery: unexpected flavors and new picks.

- one of those hikes that quietly grows on you with every step. As the day slowly faded, the dramatic peaks of Torres del Paine stood around us like silent guardians!

A stunning end-of-the-day hike in TDP - where the mountains, the wind, and the vastness remind us just how small and lucky we are!

Quick question: if I removed the Earth label from this photo… where would you place it? Mars or the Moon?

As someone completely addicted to surreal landscapes, I made the trip to Valle della Luna just to catch a sunset here. And standing in that light, it honestly felt like Earth was having an identity crisis.

Some sunsets are about color. This one was about feeling like I had accidentally landed on another planet.

"Flamingos of the Atacama"

- the Atacama is home to several remarkable flamingo species: Andean, Chilean, and James’s flamingos - each adapted to life in these high-altitude, mineral-rich lagoons shaped by volcanic geology and alkaline waters.

On this visit, I carried only an 85mm lens. The reach was limited, but it naturally slowed me down and shifted my attention toward observation rather than approach.

"Hope Above the Clouds"

- the drive from Arica to Lauca National Park was treacherous - altitude sickness kicked in, clouds rolled over Parinacota Volcano, and hope for reflections on Lake Chungará slowly faded.

But patience paid off. The skies cleared just in time, the peak revealed itself, and the lake turned into a perfect mirror. Some journeys are worth every struggle.

- from the first glow of sunrise to the final colors of sunset, the Moai of Easter Island (Rapa Nui) stand timeless against the Pacific sky.

At dawn, the ancient guardians of Ahu Tongariki emerge slowly with the rising sun behind them: one of the most surreal sights on Earth. By dusk, the day ended beside the five Moai of Ahu Tahai, where the golden sunset painted the sky behind them in unforgettable colors.

From sunrise to sunset, Easter Island felt less like a destination and more like stepping into another world suspended in time.

"Fitz Roy at Sunrise: A Moment Worth the Journey"

- some mornings stay with you forever… and this was one of them.

Waking up in the dark, hiking under a sky full of stars, and then watching the first light kiss the mighty Fitz Roy - pure magic. As the sun slowly rose, the granite peaks ignited in fiery hues of orange and gold, reflecting perfectly on the still waters below. For a few fleeting moments, time stood still.

Patagonia, you’ve truly set the bar high.
