Fabien Belcourt Photography I shoot digital, although my roots started out with film. At 13, I got my first camera and that is when the magic began and my passion bloomed.

Fabien Belcourt explores empowerment, abandon, pensive and melancholic moods with ethereal, emotive scenes and whimsical feelings, often delving into the world of surrealism. I use photography as a means of self-expression to better understand my reality, expressing my interpretation of the world around me; allowing me to explore fragments of life in its most honest form - unstaged and genuine. I grew up on a small, rural, isolated community in British Columbia called Cortes Island where nature was all around me - and as a youth, imagination was the greatest source of entertainment which was a blessing. After high school, I moved to Vancouver. I have never taken a photography course or class, post secondary or otherwise.
