Vancouver’s annual glow-up has officially begun.

There is something so surreal about the first few days of Cherry Blossom season. One minute it’s winter, and the next, the entire city is blushing in pink. It feels like a fresh start every time these blooms arrive. If you’ve been waiting for a sign that spring is finally here, this is it!

Just 10 days before the official start of spring, winter decided to make a late-season comeback. It might have taken its time getting here, but the city looks stunning under this fresh blanket of white. Catching these snowy views reminds me that nature always has its own timeline.

When your dog (or you, in solidarity) howls at a siren, they aren’t just making noise; they are responding to an ancestral “long-distance call.” The high-pitched wail of a fire truck mimics the frequency of a canine howl, triggering an instinctive response to acknowledge the “pack” and pass the message along.

Watching these two is a masterclass in agility. From the Marsh Wren’s perfect split to the White-crowned Sparrow navigating the tall brush, the winter trail is never actually quiet, it’s full of action if you’re quick enough to catch it.
