Because of my lack of knowledge (who knew there was a jelly fish season!!) and my partner's fear of jelly fish, we ended up with only about a day and a bit in Penang. No regrets though--Koh Lipe was amazing and was totally worth the travel chaos!

We still managed to squeeze a lot in , mostly eating. Here's a slightly more food focused photo drop from our quick trip stop in Penang.

Every time I go to Asia, I always make a point to stop by Hong Kong to see family. But as my HK friend gentle pointed out, I don’t really explore the city as I’m usually eating my way through it!

This time round, I brought my partner, who hadn’t been to HK before. So in the spirit of exploring and doing something different, we went everywhere but my usual spots and took along for some of the journey. These are some of my favourite shots.

Ok, not gonna like. Sao Miguel wasn't on my radar for hot and beachy for our winter holiday but we couldn't pass up up this amazing package deal to check it out!! .

First time in Europe since covid (!) and instantly fell in love with the vibe. Loved the ocean views, rolling hills and white washed homes.

And in the nicest way possible, the weather was absolutely insane. Huge waves, fierce winds, sunshin, swirling rain. Completely wild--and honestly amazing to see.

On our way to the Airbnb! We stumbled upon a beautiful art installation by the late Ken Gerberick, aptly titled Forest Installation. The project began in the 1970s as a tribute to his lifelong obsession with found objects and vintage cars.

Walking through the installation, Ken’s love for these objects was unmistakable. The care with which each piece was manicured and placed was evident, revealing a thoughtful dialogue between art, decay, and intention.

One of the central themes in Gerberick’s work is consumerism. Witnessing nature slowly envelop these once-sacred, highly desired objects is both poetic and stunningly beautiful—a quiet meditation on time, value, and impermanence.
