In stores that are very busy the best way to find the penny items are too look in the messier areas or look in between other items like books, dishware, and towels

Inflatable kickboard (note that a lot of the inflatable pool accessories are not in the stores right now so this was probably forgotten)

Lobster socks (kid size and these were a penny many months ago and they forgot to pull them so I found them yesterday)

Llama kids socks (These were also a penny earlier in the year but I found them yesterday at Dollar Tree)

Always keep an eye out for previous penny items because I find that the really messy stores have items that never got pulled previously and they have current penny items as well
