What if guests actually remembered your wedding instead of filming it?
There’s something that happens when people put the phones down. They laugh louder. They cry without thinking about it. They’re just there — in the room, in the moment, with you.
The best wedding experiences aren’t on anyone’s camera roll. They’re the ones people talk about for years because they were actually present for them.
Your videographer’s got the footage covered. Give your guests permission to just show up.

Handheld vs stabilizer — which one actually captures emotion at a wedding?
Most videographers default to smooth. Gimbal on, glide through the day, deliver clean footage. And it looks great.
But there’s something a stabilizer can’t fake — the feeling of being in the room. That slight movement when you’re holding your breath during vows. The urgency of chasing a first look. Handheld, done intentionally, tells the brain this moment was real.
The key word is intentional. Shaky because you’re unprepared is just bad footage. Handheld because you made a choice? That’s cinematography.
Know the difference. Use both. Let the moment decide.

Every instinct said move the couple. I didn’t. Here’s why.
We had a bride and groom reading their private vows after their first look — totally raw, emotional moment. Then the sun peaked through the trees and blew out right in her face.
The old me would’ve walked over and asked them to shift.
But here’s what I’ve learned: that day isn’t about getting the perfect shot. It’s about protecting the moment.
Because if I interrupt them mid-vow, I can fix the light — but I can’t un-interrupt that memory. Now it’s staged. Now it’s awkward. Now they’re thinking about me instead of each other.
Miss the light. Fix it in post. Never break the moment.
The couple will always remember how they felt that day. Make sure what they feel isn’t annoyance at their videographer.
