Winter brings a stillness that often goes unnoticed in our busy lives. On a frozen day at Astotin Lake in Elk Island National Park, two coyotes were digging in the snow, their energy contrasting with the quiet landscape. A short time later, one of them entered its den while the other rested nearby, nestled beneath a fallen tree. The fog drifting over the frozen lake added to the serene beauty of the scene. These moments are a reminder of the quiet strength and resilience of wildlife, even in the harshest of seasons.
