Putting the finishing touches on this Jasper sunrise hiking elopement today!

After we finished our hike, we had a little picnic at the lake to have a snack, eat cake and read letters from their parents - wedding day wishes for their intentionally personal celebration.

The hike was incredible and awesome, a super adventurous part of their day but I actually really loved this part. Witnessing so much love and support from family on a couple’s private elopement day was so beautiful and special, and I definitely had some tears alongside them!

30 🎉🥂

I’ve heard so many people say it only gets better in your 30s - I am both hoping and wishing that things stay as good as they are now, and bursting to know how good it’s gonna get.

I really do hope there is a lot of this involved though, after all these adventures I got to have in the last year of my 20s.

To a new decade and all its new adventures

We were talking about stars the other night and it reminded me of the craziest meteor shower I’ve ever seen.

I came home from an August wedding around 1:30-2am. I watched shooting stars from the highway all the way back, and when I got home I turned off all the outside lights, pulled a deck chair into the driveway, glued my eyes up and watched the most insane meteor shower for 2 hours all by myself. It was completely dark and silent and the temperature where you don’t really feel the air, so it felt like I was in the stars.

I’ll never forget that time and it was after this magical day so they get the title of “day of a million shooting stars” 💫✨

Britt & Tyler 🏔️🌲🥾

Jasper holds such a special place in their hearts; from first exploring what it could be like to be together, to doing this exact hike the day before getting engaged at Lake Edith, to planning their dream day around the peaceful, wild energy of the place.

We started hiking at 4:45; pitch black and the world was still sleeping but that parking lot was so amped up. And their energy was so high all day, such a happy excited stoked adventurous day.

They exchanged vows as the world lit up, and after their mountaintop ceremony, first dance and time to just take in the view, we headed down and into town. We found this picnic table that was perfectly placed by a lovely stranger on the shore of Lake Edith, where they read letters from their parents over cake and champagne.

To send it off we stopped at for a final brew!

The opportunity and freedom that an elopement grants you is unmatched and Britt and Tyler really maximized the adventure and sentimentality. We truly didn’t want the day to end but that’s why we have photos and film right!!!!

Winter highlights (aka saying goodbye to winter so it leaves us peacefully lol) - a bit of work and a lot of play!!!

- got really into snowshoeing and sourdough
- TWO Galentine’s parties 🎀
- our boy turned 10!!!
- lots of cooking including learning to make ravioli and some traditional African dishes
- stunning winter mountain wedding & photographing my fav little people and their moms
- getaway to the Island

Tiniest ranchhand award 🌾

When this view is 10 steps behind your house you use it!!! Lil man was being so cute and funny and Carley is just always a vibe. Our goal was “something lowkey, nothing crazy, just something to mark this phase” and I feel like the best photos come from embracing things exactly as the are, no forcing, just rolling with it.

A single photo posted on an impulsive whim?? pardon??

I was updating some Pinterest boards and client guides and saw this gem and I just - it’s the film, it’s the doggy waiting for the pizza to fall, it’s the cute ass bump, it’s the lounging at home, it’s the memory of the day.

The in-the-moment nostalgia is EVERYTHING to me.

My 2025 on film - personal edition 🏔️🥰

It was a year of adventure and celebration and together time: mentions to Bowen Island with my mom, my parents’ 35th anniversary, camping out by Nordegg, my brother and sister in law’s Gusaba and wedding, sweet precious time at home, and our dream trip to Alaska.

I often forget to pull out my film cameras but getting scans back is like nostalgia in real time and looking back at these photos makes me miss those times already!
