I had less than a week to plan the perfect outfit that aligned with the inspo board sent me, and my first thought: Alice in Wonderland but make it bridal 💍

I wanted something vintage that not only fit the vibe, but was just as playful as what I had imagined in my head - Hillary from was the answer.
The original dress was quite long, and so I decided to shorten the skirt by manipulating the fabric with a belt, and adding some poly-fil - which made for a more playful silhouette and added volume, which I love ☺️

Did I also mention that I made the pillbox hat using things I had around the house? You’d be surprised at what you can do with and old handbag, some fabric, pearls and some leftover ribbon 😅

Did I create magic within the span of 20 minutes, with mere seconds of just meeting these kiddos for the first time? Absolutely. Is this typical? Absolutely not 😅

If you have kids, you know that it can take between 10-15 minutes for kids to warm up to a stranger pointing a camera in their face - which typically means we only have about 5-15 minutes of true shooting time before kiddos become bored, tired or hungry 😂

I was truly thankful that Emily from trusted me to capture the beautiful chaos that is her family. The deep love, the laughter, the playfulness and whimsy they brought with them was pure joy to photograph 💛

The theme for P and A’s wedding? Light ✨

Music came to mind when I was faced with its spell. I feel myself revisiting those small pockets of light, the dappled light, the harsh light overhead, and the play of shadow and light - as if they were quietly trying to overtake each other. Playfully composed, I relished in capturing the constant sources of light that were in every which direction - almost as if light itself was being dictated by an orchestra. Staccato-like pockets dancing like sprites, to finally crescendo-ing into the grand finale.

The attention to detail matters.
Let me explain. If you’re a bride who feels like skipping over detail shots in lieu of saving an hour’s worth of coverage, I am here to say that the extra time we as photographers allocate to details is always, in my opinion, worth it.
For me, these shots add depth to your wedding gallery. They pull you in, relive your story, and are just as thought out as the rest of your images. We get to play with shadow and light, texture and contrasts, and beautifully capture your thoughtfully chosen accessories that brought your entire look together.
While second shooting for she gave me the task of creating detail magic - and I think I did just that ☺️

Last September I had the privilege of working with other immensely talented women to create this bridal styled shoot that had been bouncing in my head for over a year.
The inspiration for this gorgeous session started from a simple handwritten script on a tablecloth (and after hours of searching online for the perfect shade of pink, I decided to hand dye a tablecloth with gloves to match, because why not? 🤷‍♀️) Am I aware of how incredibly labour intensive my ideas always seem to be? Not in the least 😅 not only was I 7 months pregnant at the time, I was also battling a cold and not sleeping (from said bébé) - but my mindset has always been to GET THE JOB DONE 😂 and boy am I glad I did it ✨

This is all to say that I am officially opening up my 2026 / 2027 books!! This is just the teeniest snippet of a beautifully saturated styled bridal shoot fully drenched in colour that I had been, quite frankly, dreaming about for the past year 🌈
From the hand-died linens (add that to my resume now 😅), to the bamboo flatware, the vintage majolica dinnerware, the hand-painted linen designs to the antique dining chairs - this dream of all beautiful pieces were all from my own collection. And what is magical about it, is that I didn’t have to go looking far to see how it would all come together 🥰

By the way, I envisioned having a floral "bag" for this shoot, and literally DELIVERED on a silver platter 💛 Not only are these women incredibly talented floral entrepreneurs, they are incredible mothers who balance it all.

After arriving 11 days early at 38+3 in the most non-stress and chaotic-free manner I could ever had hoped for, we introduce our sweet Joséphine Briar earthside 💛

Joséphine’s namesake came from one of my favourite novels, Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women - our heroine Josephine March was a strong, confident family-oriented and inspiring protagonist with a passion for books, life and love.
