Kathryn Floercke, born in 1998 grew up in a farm home on the Gulf Island of Salt Spring, in BC Canada. At a young age Kathryn got her hands on a simple point and shoot camera and her imagination of photography took off. On her small island she started by creating a small business for herself. It all started by selling postcard
s to the locals, and tourists at the local Saturday markets. Eventually she put her cards into multiple stores around the island. She slowly moved on to commission work for a handful of clients on the island. During this time she was in high school learning all of the fundamentals that came with photography and videography. In her last two years of high school Kathryn worked on the yearbook committee, for her last year she took on being a yearbook editor which taught her more about layout, advertising, and the world of copy editing. Upon graduating from GISS she enrolled into the University of Victoria where she took multiple courses on; design, marketing, photography, videography, ceramics, history, and education. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in the spring of 2020. During those years she completed a wide range of artistic projects, some examples are; wedding photography, large family photo sessions with full studio set up, gallery exhibitions hosted by the university and small businesses, aiding small businesses with product photography and product marketing. Kathryn is a woman of many talents digitally and artistically. She can find a work around most problems that comes her way.
