I’ve added a small new thing to Vancouver Island Drones.

I’ve built up a pretty big library of real 4K Vancouver Island aerial footage over the last while — beaches, driftwood, coastline, sunrise, calm water, forest edges, shorelines, and all the usual West Coast nonsense I apparently enjoy getting out of bed way too early to film.

If you’re working on a website, social video, local ad, tourism page, promo video, or project edit and need a few seconds of actual Vancouver Island aerial B-roll, I might already have something that fits.

This isn’t generic “somewhere with an ocean” stock footage. If you’re from the Island, you know. Vancouver Island footage looks like Vancouver Island footage.

Simple pricing for existing clips:

$50 per clip
5 clips for $200

Watermarked previews are available, and clean versions are sent once licensed.

And if you need something specific — a property, business, project, shoreline, or location — custom drone shoots are still available too. Most straightforward local drone photo/video jobs are usually in the $200–$300 range depending on scope.

Local drone photo/video availability.

I run Vancouver Island Drones here on the Westshore and I’m opening up a bit more room for practical aerial photo and video work around Greater Victoria and Vancouver Island.

Good fit for properties, projects, small businesses, construction progress, shoreline views, roof/exterior checks, site documentation, tourism/development visuals, or anything where a clean overhead view helps.

For longer projects, I can also do repeat flights from planned angles using waypoint-assisted flight paths where appropriate, which helps create consistent progress photos over time.

I’m Transport Canada Advanced-certified and plan flights properly, including airspace checks and NAV CANADA coordination where required.

Simple local jobs are often in the $200–$300 range depending on scope. Larger, recurring, municipal, or more structured work is quoted properly.

I went down a dangerous little AI rabbit hole mocking up Vancouver Island Drones graphics on the old Yukon.

Full wrap? Partial wrap? Subtle? Too much? Just enough? No idea anymore.

So I’m outsourcing this to the internet before I convince myself this is a responsible business decision.

Which one looks best?

Bonus points if you can tell me whether this looks like a legit local drone business… or a 23-year-old Denali having a midlife crisis.

Thinking about buying your first drone?

I put together a quick, honest comparison of the DJI Lito 1 vs Lito X1 — basically, which one makes more sense if you’re trying to get into drones without immediately spiralling into full DJI addiction.

The Lito 1 looks like the new “first real drone” option.

New blog post up from our Port Renfrew road trip.

I was commissioned through Vancouver Island Drones to capture aerial photos around Pacheedaht Beach and the surrounding area, so we turned it into a family day on the West Coast — big beach, San Juan River views, rough roads, and one very confident backseat driver telling me I need driving lessons every time we hit a bump.

Port Renfrew still has that proper wild Vancouver Island feeling. Ocean, river, forest, mountains, and just enough road chaos to remind you that you’ve actually left town.

Most straightforward drone jobs around Vancouver Island are usually in the $200–$300 range, depending on location, scope, travel, and editing. This one was a little different being out in Renfrew, but the idea is the same: plan it properly, get the shots, and deliver something useful.

Give it a read if you like West Coast road trips, drone photos, or small children roasting their father’s driving.

I’ve cleaned up the Vancouver Island Drones service page a bit to make things simpler.

If anyone around Greater Victoria or Vancouver Island needs aerial photos or video for a property, construction progress, business, inspection, roof check, or just a better look at something from above, most straightforward jobs are usually in the $200–$300 range.

I handle the site survey, airspace checks, NAV CANADA requirements when needed, and the flying. Advanced-certified, insured, and kept simple.

No big production. No mystery pricing. Just send me the location and what you need, and I’ll tell you straight up if it makes sense.
