A little glimpse into the very first Model Experience ✨

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who shared, commented, tagged friends, inquired, participated, and supported this event. Seeing an idea come to life and watching these women step in front of the camera with confidence was incredibly rewarding 🤍

A special thank you as well to for her incredible pose coaching, for makeup touch-ups and lashes, and for providing such a beautiful creative space.

I’ve already had a number of people asking if there will be another one… 👀

Nothing is official yet, but if there’s enough interest, I may just have to make The Model Experience a recurring event with new concepts, themes, and creative opportunities to come.

I’ve always been drawn to the quiet depth of old portrait paintings — how light, texture, and stillness tell a story without needing explanation with the subject existing somewhere beyond the moment.

I’m Rachael — an editorial photographer based in Victoria, BC. I work with people who want images that feel intentional, elevated, and honest. Photos that hold presence, not performance.

I didn’t come into photography to build a brand or even necessarily to build a business. I came to it because creating has always been part of who I am.

It’s the constant. The thing I picked up as a kid, is the same thing I’m still drawn to now. That drive never left; it just grew clearer.

Over time, I realized it’s more than passion. It’s how I process, how I express, how I make sense of the world. Creating keeps me grounded. It gives shape to things I can’t always explain out loud.

We’ll begin with a short discovery call or conversation so I can understand what you’re looking for — not just visually, but how you want the images to feel. This helps me guide you toward the right session, location, and approach without overcomplicating the process.

Once your session is booked, I’ll walk you through everything you need to know ahead of time — from timing and location suggestions to light guidance on what to wear and how to prepare. You don’t need to overthink it. My role is to create space for you to feel comfortable and present, not performative.

During the session, I’ll offer direction when it’s helpful and step back when the moment doesn’t need interference. The goal is natural movement, honest connection, and images that feel like you.

After your session, you’ll receive a curated gallery with professionally edited images that reflect my style. Clean, intentional, and made to last — whether they live in print, in your home, or as part of your brand.
