Got the chance to head out to Vancouver and take photos of the fantastic Avery Sloane and my sister's band Saving Grace, who absolutely KILLED their first ever show! It was an absolute blast! (P.S. check out Saving Grace's first single, Backbone, on spotify!)

After a many year hiatus from photography, and an even longer break from festival photography, I am so happy to be back doing what I love. Huge amount of love to Victoria Ska and Reggae Festival / Society for an amazing show tonight, and to Colin Smith Takes Pics for asking me to come out and cover the days festivities.

Sometimes you don't realize how much you've missed something until you get back to doing it. It was a shaky start, but I quickly found my groove again and had an absolute blast!

Stuart Semple is a fu***ng badass in this world of companies fu***ng over artists, he has stood up to so much bu****it and offered affordable, realistic, and well functioning and performing products that mirror “exclusive” colours such as his version of “The Blackest Black” bought by Anish Kapoor to try and stop others from creating using a fu***ng COLOUR.

Now he’s giving a big f**k you to Adobe, who years ago switched to a subscription based platform, only allowing us to rent their programs and not outright own them. His versions of Photoshop and Lightroom are slated to be released in the Abode suite, which is a one time purchase and offers free updates for life. To get access to the release it’s a £60 pledge on kickstarter (roughly $100 CAD) which is STILL only a fraction of what Lightroom alone USED TO COST!

They will be rolling out video editing software in the Abode suite later down the line. You can bet your ass in 2 weeks when I get paid I am jumping on this. F**k Adobe for holding creators hostage to whatever they want to charge us, constantly increasing subscription prices to absolute INSANE highs, you deserve to OWN the software you need to use for your craft.

All my graphic design, photography, and video editor friends, this will be worth getting in on. As a backer you also get access to the programs in their early stages to help develop and make sure they work correctly and as intended. Funded and developed by artists, for artists.
