They flew all the way from Australia to watch the World Cup in Vancouver, then made their way to Victoria for what she thought was just a surprise getaway at Villa Eyrie!
He wanted a view worth remembering, so I suggested Jocelyn Hill. Myself and Bryce hiked up about 30 minutes before them and waited at the top. We kept a close eye on their apple maps location so as soon as they were around the corner, Bryce and I acted like tourists taking photos of each other and the view.
After a few minutes, it was time. He got down on one knee, shared about their relationship and their future, and gave her a moment to be present after the ‘shock and awe’ feelings had settled. She said yes!!
Bryce and I drove them downtown afterward for their celebratory lunch, and we snuck in a second mini session behind the Parliament Buildings so their gallery would have both the wild, hiking-trail feel and some gorgeous architecture too. After the shoot, Villa Eyrie topped off the day with ch*****ne and a spa session. An incredibly well-planned surprise from start to finish!! We love a proposal that doesn’t end the celebrations right after!
Where’s a good place to propose in Victoria, BC?
Jocelyn Hill is one of my favorite spots for a surprise proposal. For how beautiful the view is, the hike is relatively quick and easy (we’re talking about 20 minutes walking uphill instead of 1-2 hours).
