"This trip was planned around the London Marathon. I was running my 5th World Major Marathon, and since London had always been such an iconic destination for us, we decided to turn the race into an unforgettable vacation and fully experience the city while we were there.
My favorite memory was absolutely the marathon itself — the energy, encouragement, and overwhelming support from the city and its people was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. Beyond race day, we loved simply wandering through the streets of London, taking in the history, discovering beautiful architecture, and stopping into historic pubs to immerse ourselves in the culture. One of our biggest “wow” moments was our day trip to Windsor. It ended up being so much more than just visiting Windsor Castle — the town itself was incredibly charming, full of little streets and hidden spots we wanted to keep exploring. We quickly realized we had not given ourselves nearly enough time there.
Completing the marathon was by far one of the most incredible and emotional experiences of my life. Running through such a historic city with crowds cheering the entire way is something I’ll never forget. I’m also so thankful Hector allowed me to include my London Marathon finisher’s medal in our photo shoot. He captured some amazing images of both the medal and me with it, and those photos truly brought everything from the trip together for us. It felt like the perfect way to celebrate not only the accomplishment of completing the marathon, but the entire experience we shared in London." - Jen
