A festival like Rock la Cauze, it was never just about the bands, it is the whole thing 🌞🤘

Nearly 40°C at Parc Terre-des-Jeunes with barely any shade, and a crowd that opened pits anyway, from the first band to the last note. Bodysurfers all day, a site packed tighter by the hour, and a festival that puts its money where its heart is: local causes supported, over 300 volunteers making it run. I didn't even know this festival existed before Granby this summer, one look at that Friday lineup and I knew I couldn't miss it. No regrets.

🙏 Massive thanks to the Rock La Cauze Vosker team for building a lineup that hits from the first band to the last, to alll the volunteers working the gates, the bars and the food stands in that heat, and to the crowd that never stopped moving. None of this happens without you. See you next year!

Hollywood Undead opening on "Undead" with flames across the entire stage and smoke shot straight into the sky 🔥💀

The whole crowd rapping and singing along within seconds — and then the part that really stuck with me: everyone in this band sings, and they keep swapping instruments mid-set, a guitarist becoming a frontman, a singer picking up the bass; organized chaos, and you don't see that every day.

August Burns Red sending bodysurfers over the crowd faster than I could count them 🌊🔥

Jake Luhrs owning every inch of that stage, running end to end without ever running out of air, technical metalcore landing clean on an already electric site as the crowd packed in tighter; the bar got set very high for the rest of the night.

Basterds flying the local flag at Rock la Cauze — and absolutely earning their spot on that lineup 🤘🔥

Drummondville hardcore at full brutality, a crowd that gave everything back, and a frontman climbing down to sing half a song pressed right up against the barricades; walked in not knowing them, walked out a fan.

Machine Head calling for the biggest moshpit at Rock la Cauze, in 40°C heat 🔥⚡

Thirty years of stagecraft on display, Robb Flynn working the crowd from the first riff, pits opening everywhere and crowd surfers rolling in nonstop — then giant inflatable cubes in the band's likeness dropped into the audience to close it out; a set nobody saw coming that early in the day.

Five Finger Death Punch turned the Centre Bell into a full-blown mosh cathedral. From the opening riff, the pit erupted and never let up — pyro, anthemic sing-alongs, and that relentless groove-metal punch that's made them a global powerhouse. Cody Jinks brought his deep, resonant baritone and no-frills outlaw country to the Centre Bell — a bold pairing on a metal-leaning bill, and Montreal embraced it. His honest songwriting and weathered voice filled the room, proving country grit and heavy music share more common ground than you'd think. A commanding set that won the crowd over. 🤠
