Soaked up every single last second of summer. We only have so many summers left before our party of 5 will slowly dwindle down until it’s just us two!! We needed a weekend. A weekend of the outdoors, campfires and sunset bike rides. We all set some goals and welcome Fall🍁

In a world that is scarier than ever, the worry and anxiousness of the future can weigh on you…So in between the kids bickering over everything to watching the sunset and to sleeping in until our bodies woke us up and not some annoying alarm.

It’s officially time to introduce the newest member of Jacquot’s Pixel & Posts!

Please let me introduce my guy! husband, the father to my children and our app creator!

He’s been working behind the scenes building custom apps for local businesses, organizations and events. And yes, one of the perks of working with your photographer wife is always having a great headshot ready to go!

As for which one of us is the boss? Let’s just say that feature is still under development.

Well. It’s officially out there on the real estate socials, so I guess it’s safe to say…

I hoped. I prayed. And we really tried.

But yes, the Schoolhouse that has been in my Grandparents’ name for nearly 60 years has officially sold.

Many of you know this Schoolhouse and how much I have always loved it. I had such a special bond with my Grandpa Chesney, and over the years we walked this property more times than I could count — looking at the trees, the overgrown gardens and everything this place had been… and talking about everything it still could be.

The history of this home and its future were conversations we shared often. The stone walls he built. His full-sized workshop that I dreamed of turning into my photography studio. A place where we pictured generation after generation continuing to gather, keeping the Chesney Schoolhouse in the family.

It was a home that desperately needed some TLC — and I wanted so badly to be the one to give it that.

We submitted an offer.

Someone else’s was accepted.

Marc and I are heartbroken. Our kids are too. Because this wasn’t just a house to us. It was a dream we had pictured for our family for a very long time.

I documented this place every chance I could. I was completely obsessed with it. So these images feel especially special now. Too special not to share.

Today, I’m allowing myself to be heartbroken. To be sad about the dream that didn’t work out.

Tomorrow, I’ll lift my head a little higher and remind myself how much we have to be thankful for. I’ll trust that this simply wasn’t in God’s plan for us and that there is a bigger plan we just can’t see yet.

Today, I’m just not quite ready to see what that is.

Jacquot’s Pixel & Posts is a space that brings together a variety of needs within our community.

Photography will always be a huge part of what I do. From families and milestones to weddings and everything in between, capturing your moments has been part of my life for more than 16 years.

But over the last four years, it has grown into so much more.

I’ve had the opportunity to work with local businesses, organizations and events to manage their social media, create content and find creative ways to help them stand out, connect with our community and bring people through their doors.

Then earlier this year, another opportunity came along — app design and development.

I’ll be the first to say, the development side is NOT my area of expertise. That’s all Marc! I had the connections and the ideas, he had the skills, and suddenly we found ourselves working together behind the scenes.

And that’s when everything started to come together.

Photography. Content creation. Social media. App development. Custom Magnets. Community.

Jacquot’s Pixel & Posts is about capturing, creating and connecting — and finding new ways to help our community tell its stories and bring ideas to life.

Today I turn 42 and I wanted to commemorate the occasion. I have been talking about a "Rebrand" for a year. I really felt like Jennifer Jacquot Photography just didn't match what was happening behind the scenes. I need it to be more US...
