I am a photographer, and a lover of nature and wildlife. Please don't ask me where I took certain pictures or saw certain animals or birds. If I don't disclose it in my posting, there's a good reason, like it's on private property, or an influx of people wanting their own shot which would adversely affect the lives of the wildlife I enjoy. I've had people ask where I saw bears, and when I ask why

they want to know, they say "They are soooo beautiful, I want to go shoot one!", or where I shot a salmon leaping, and they want to go catch one out of season. Nope, sorry, not on my information, I can't help you.

Another species that's becoming more and more common (but not very common) is the Sandhill Crane. They're literally everywhere in Florida, but not THAT common here. Sandhill Cranes are omnivorous. Seeds, berries and roots are common food items, and, depending on availability, crop plants like corn and wheat grains. They will also eat small animals like rodents, snails, insects, frogs, lizards and nestling birds. They use their pointed beaks to probe for food in marshy areas. I'll post a video a bit later.

Play time.

It was a good day at the den. Mom was out hunting, leaving the 3 kits to amuse themselves and await her return.

1 of many shots I took this morning from my "mobile blind". Although I wasn't real close, it looks like they heard my shutter clicking. Finally, a new fox family to follow! Location undisclosed. More pics to be posted later today.

Not an adult - I'll guess 2 years old, grazing by himself along the edge of the field.
