Like I said. This one might hit and why ? Because I’m over here feeling my feels. Every year we are putting family photos off:

β€œWe’ll do them next year.”
β€œI want to lose a few pounds first.”
β€œThe kids are too wild.”
β€œLife is just too busy right now.”

Trust me, I get it. I’m mom of 4, I know exactly what it’s like to feel like you’re living in survival mode. Most days I’m more focused on making sure everyone has clean clothes, gets where they need to be, and remembers their water bottle than I am about being in front of a camera.

And if I’m being honest? There are plenty of times I don’t love the way I look in photos either.

But here’s what I’ve learned:
Your children don’t see the things you’re worried about. They only see Mom. And they LOVE YOU.

That’s why one of my biggest tips is to take photos every year, even when there’s no special occasion.

Our kids are changing faster than we realize. The missing teeth. The little hand that still reaches for yours. The way they climb into your lap. The way they look at you when they think no one is watching.

One of my favourite comments from a recent session was:
β€œWere we even on the same beach? How did you get these photos?”
I got them while you’re busy managing smiles, sibling arguments, meltdowns, and trying to keep everyone clean, I’m watching something different.

I’m watching your kiddos wrap their arms around your neck, I’m watching them laugh when you tickle them.
I’m watching the way your family naturally connects when nobody is trying to be perfect.

Parents A L W A Y S leave a session feeling like it was chaos (same) but I PROMISE I leave knowing we captured real memories.

The truth is, years from now, your kiddos won’t care how you looked. & you know what? You won’t either

You only get one chance to capture this season of life. 🀍🀍🀍

From capturing their proposal to engagement photos to β€œI do,” I’ve had the privilege of documenting these two for years, and watching their love grow has been nothing short of amazing.

A day filled with happy tears, endless laughter, and the kind of love that reminds you there’s always something worth celebrating. 🀍

These days, almost everyone has a great camera in their pocket. And honestly? Anyone can take a nice photo.

But when you’re investing in family photos, you’re investing in so much more than a camera. You’re investing in someone who knows how to connect with your kids, make everyone feel comfortable, find the best light, adapt when things don’t go as planned, and capture the moments in between the direction.

After 11 years of photographing families, I’ve learned that the best photos aren’t created by perfect conditions or perfect smiles. They’re created by experience, connection, and making sure everyone is comfortable.

Because years from now, it won’t matter how the photo was taken, it will matter that you have it. 🀍
