My biggest failure brought me my first four figure job…
When I started this journey, I set up a booth at an event to promote my business, sell prints and connect with other creatives.
After the event, I thought maybe my booth was too busy with too broad of a range of work. I assumed people just glanced while walking across and got overwhelmed with the options.
While that may have been true for the general public…
Someone saw it differently.
The media lead from the event came to me and said:
“Not at all! I love how much variety you showed. It showcases how adaptable you are. Would you be interested in photographing our next event?
That “failure” turned into my first four figure booking.
It was that moment that stuck with me. People will tell you to specialize immediately, to pick one lane and stay there.
But when you’re still finding your path… exploring everything is part of the process and in the end, it’s only going to open more doors for you AND serve your clients better.
Under Lucky Seven, I capture weddings, portraits, engagements, social content, creative shoots… All kinds of stories, but if I’m honest…
Concerts are what fuel my fire.
The lights. The chaos. The crowd.
There’s nothing like freezing that energy in a frame.
So if you’re figuring things out in your craft right now, don’t let anyone convince you that curiosity and diversity is a weakness.
Sometimes the thing you think is your biggest mistake is exactly what opens the next door.
