There's nothing quite like Sudbury in the Summer ☀️

For a few days this July, I'll be heading back to my motherland to catch up with some of my OG clients, revisit some of my favourite photo spots, eat my weight in wild blueberries and soak up a little Northern Ontario sunshine.

Some backyards are just built different 😮‍💨🌿

J + E turned their engagement session into something straight out of a dream with a private waterfall, winding stream, wildflowers, and the softest summer light. Honestly, this felt less like a photoshoot and more like wandering through a hidden garden with two people completely obsessed with each other.

These are the kinds of engagement photos I LOVE creating : natural, romantic, candid moments in places that actually mean something to you. No awkward posing, just connection, movement, laughter and a little bit of magic.

A little dachshund photoshoot with my pal’s adorable wiener dogs and I am fully convinced there is no bigger personality packed into such tiny legs. These sweet doxies brought all the chaos, side eyes, side quests, and classic dachshund attitude to their dog photography session 🫶📸

If you’ve ever wanted professional photos of your dog, whether it’s a playful puppy, senior dog or your whole pack, pet photography sessions are always some of my favourites. Especially when dachshunds are involved 🌭

A little local business love 🤝🔥

This week I teamed up with Big G’s Smokehouse for a simple trade: professional photography of their food/staff in exchange for some seriously good smoked BBQ and sides.

And so I spent a few hours capturing their food and the vibe behind what they do, and left with so much food I had to bring Andrew in to help me out. 🍖📸

THE VERDICT: the food is transcendent. Do not sleep on this place. They will be so busy soon!

Always a win working with local businesses and getting to support each other in ways that actually make sense. As they're just starting out, a full branding photo session isn't in the marketing plan. But as I've said many times before: currency comes in all forms, baby! 🥩

Miss Molly, golden angel and heart of the family, celebrated her 14th year surrounded by the people who have loved her through every chapter. These sessions always hit a little different because they are about so much more than photos. They are about honouring a lifetime of love.

Good dogs never really know how deeply they’re loved but somehow they spend their whole lives showing us 💛🐾
