Happy 5 months, Tilt! 🥳🎈💙
(Yes, he was born on Feb. 14th. 2025! ❤️) We welcomed our new best friend, another German Shepherd pup, into our lives almost 3 months ago. (He came home on Easter Sun morning, Apr. 20, 2025.) We went just over a month with our home feeling too quiet until we brought this sassy, goofy, energetic, smart boy home. Our house feels like a home again and we already love him so much! Our loss of Tigo is still very hard, but we have so many memories to look back on, while making new ones with Tilt. Honestly, it will likely never be easy to speak about it. Dogs are just the best animals. Tilt has already learned sit, down, off, touch, look, high five, paw, chill, come, his name, sniff, up, orbit, between, and listen. All of these at only 5 months! He loves his people, toys, and ant hunting in the yard. He already has so many nicknames like Full Tilt, Tilty, Tilty-beans and Tilt-a-Whirl! And some other ones like Bubs and Goose. While puppyhood is exhausting and so utterly repetitive, we are so happy to have this sweet and goofy guy as a companion to share life's adventures with. 💓🐾🐕

Today Kent and I lost our best friend and fur baby Tigo. 😭💔🐾This was so sudden and it is way too soon. Our hearts are shattered and this is painful to write. Our beautiful German Shepherd was supposed to turn 9 on Mar. 26. This best boi was a part of our everyday lives and we did everything with him. We brought him home the very first day we bought our very first family home. Our home will never be the same again without our favourite bubs.

Tigo loved life and everyone in it. He was our loyal, fierce, beautiful protector. He was a high energy, anxiety, goofball, wrapped up in a "fur torpedo" as Kent would say. Always wanting to be in the action. Tigo was so smart. I wish I could keep track of all the commands and skills he knew. He just learned two more things in the past week. I talked to him and sang to him, all day, everyday. I think that's part of how he became so smart. He was the most charismatic, goofy, and unique personality. One in a million.

There is never enough time with our loved ones. Our pets are the best. They love unconditionally. This heartache is like no other I have experienced. I already feel the silence and emptiness in the house. Even though I am crying about the loss, I am strangely anticipating him being right beside us, following our every move, wanting pets and head or butt scratch, and waiting for treats or to prepare the next snack. While still balling and remembering memories, at the same time I just moved something off the stairs because Tigo could trip. Kent just fell asleep on the couch and I caught myself asking if the breathing was Kent or Tigo. 😭💔

Today felt strange in so many ways. A full blood moon, lunar eclipse, and the 13th. Kent randomly came home early from work today. A little bit after he came home and after a short nap with our pup, Tigo started breathing heavy. Kent took him to the vet right away, and they tried CPR for 10 minutes with no success. Tigo wasn't alone and didn't suffer in the end and was so loved by everyone that knew him. Buddy, please say hi to our family members and Timber and Tage for us. You can run free and play to your heart's content. 🐾🌈
