If I had to describe my perfect Saturday outing, this would pretty much be it šŸ‚

Give me a coffee, a date with my sister and a girlfriend, a trip to HomeSense, Home Depot and Canadian Tire to look at all the fall and Halloween and fall decor and I’m happy.

One thing about me… I’m ALWAYS going to notice the little details.

Obviously you need the wide shots when you’re photographing an Airbnb, but I swear sometimes it’s the smaller shots that make the space feel so much more inviting.

The cute lamp, the bedding, the little coffee setup, a styled corner, the way the light comes through the window… all the things that make you actually picture yourself staying there.

I love photographing spaces this way because every Airbnb has its own little details that give it personality and make it different from the next.

So if you have an Airbnb, tell me… what’s the one little detail in yours that you love?

And if your Airbnb needs some new photos, you know where to find me.

Recently I had the sweetest family session, and while we were walking through the park one of my beautiful clients said something that I cannot stop thinking about.

She was telling me how thankful she was that they were doing these photos and how beautiful life is. She had told her whole family not to stress about what they were wearing and to just wear whatever they felt comfortable in because at the end of the day, that’s not what matters. Not curated outfits just to be present.

And she’s so right.

There’s never going to be the perfect time. Life is busy. The kids are growing. Maybe you want to lose a little weight first. Maybe you’re waiting for the perfect season, the perfect outfits, or for everyone’s schedules to magically line up. Maybe it’s raining, windy, cloudy or 35 degrees and everyone is sweating.

We can come up with a million reasons to wait.

But when you look back at these photos 10 or 20 years from now, you’re not going to care that you didn’t love your arms that day or that everyone’s outfits weren’t perfectly coordinated.

You’re going to see how little your kids were. Their smile, their laugh, the way they held your hand. You’re going to see your family exactly as they were in that little chapter of your lives.

And some of the things we’re the most self conscious about right now might be the exact things we’d give anything to go back and see again one day.

Because life changes. Kids grow up. People get older. And unfortunately, there comes a time when some moments and some people simply aren’t ours to go back to.

But photos have this incredible way of taking us there for a second.

Back to that person. That laugh. That season of life. That completely ordinary day that you didn’t realize would someday mean so much.

So if you’ve been putting off booking the photos because life is crazy, you don’t know what to wear, you want to lose a few pounds, or it just doesn’t feel like the ā€œrightā€ time…

Take this as your sign.

Just book the damn photoshoot. šŸ¤

I don’t share my personal life on here too often. Not a fan. BUT I feel like this summer was one of the best summers I have had yet.

So many amazing things happened, we planned a wedding in a very short amount of time… Which was quite stressful. I don’t recommend trying to plan a wedding on your own without a planner.🤣 but we had so much help from so many amazing family and friends!

We got to spend the summer with so many different family members from Alberta and all the way from New Zealand! And I miss them all so much !!!!

We spent lots of days down at Jills farm, swimming and fishing and going on adventures with the kids!

I photographed so many amazing families and had the privilege of shooting some really cool campaigns and photo shoots for some pretty big names. Still feeling like I am on cloud nine from those ones!

And we bought a house!!!!!!!! Thanks kevy for all your help with making the process so quick and seamless!! Kevin Snaychuk

Cannot wait to share more about this fun and exciting new adventure! Be prepared my Instagram is going to turn into a DIY page here pretty quickly🤣

When your entire wedding hair plan is basically ā€œsoft, whimsical… you know what I meanā€ šŸ˜‚šŸ¤

Nicole Pomme || hair & scalp education truly killed it. Not only did she somehow turn my two minute bathroom Pinterest search into exactly what I wanted, she flew through SO many heads of hair that morning and made everyone look amazing.

And the fact that my hair survived the WIND that day and still looked this good into the night šŸ‘šŸ¼

Forever grateful for you Nicole šŸ¤āœØ

I still can’t believe we’re married.🄹 I feel like I’m still dreaming about Saturday and I don’t think it’s fully sunk in yet.

Our day was everything we hoped for and so much more. We were incredibly lucky to get married at Jillian Harris & Justin Pasutto beautiful farm, and I don’t even know how we’ll ever be able to thank them for everything they did for us. It was the most perfect place to start this next chapter together. Thank you both from the bottom of our hearts šŸ˜šŸ¤

I also just want to say thank you to every single person who helped make this day happen. Whether you were setting up, decorating, cooking, bringing food, creating beautiful signs and decor, hanging lights, moving tables, cleaning up, helping with hair & makeup, capturing the day, or helping with the hundred little things in between, we truly could not have done it without you. It took so many people to bring our vision to life because we insanely thought we could do it all on our own lol and we will never forget the love and support that surrounded us all day.

Jesse and I have always known we had amazing friends and family, but Saturday reminded us just how lucky we really are. We have never felt so loved.

And our ceremony… šŸ˜‚ Let’s just say it did not go exactly as planned. It was chaotic, unexpected, and something we’ll be laughing about for the rest of our lives. That story is definitely still to come. šŸ¤

I’ve been meaning to post these for weeks and weeks, but between wedding planning and this somehow becoming the busiest season of my career yet, I feel like I’ve barely had a second to sit down and breathe.

But these deserved a post.

First of all, thank you to my sweet friend Virginia Nymeyer for capturing these so beautifully. I don’t think there’s anyone else who could make us feel so comfortable in front of the camera. She always captures the little in between moments that end up meaning the most, and looking through these just made me so excited knowing she’ll be the one documenting our wedding next weekend. I already know those photos are going to be some of the most treasured memories we’ll ever have.

Looking through these also made me realize just how far Jesse and I have come.

Almost 10 years together.

Ten years of growing together, learning together, making mistakes, celebrating wins, navigating some really hard seasons, and continuing to choose each other through all of it.

If you had told us years ago that this is where we’d be today, I don’t know if either of us would’ve believed you.

One of the things I’m most proud of is that we’re both coming up on almost two years sober. Making that decision changed everything in the best way possible.

Our relationship became stronger. We became stronger. We started dreaming again. We started believing in ourselves again. Life feels lighter, happier, healthier, and more intentional than it ever has before.

It hasn’t always been easy, and I’m sure there will still be challenges ahead because that’s just life, but I truly feel like if we’ve been able to overcome everything we already have, there’s nothing we can’t face together.

Next weekend, I get to marry my best friend. That still feels SOOO surreal to say.

I’m so proud of the life we’ve built, the people we’ve become, and the future we’re creating together. It feels like we’re just getting started, and I honestly can’t wait to see where the next chapter takes us.

And Virginia… thank you for giving us these memories before such a special milestone. We’ll cherish them forever. You’re the A to my B šŸ¤
