Sunday introduction!

Hi I’m Lyndsay, the face behind Minted Photography. I don’t always sit in the ocean with a camera, but when inspiration strikes there isn’t much I won’t do to get the shot!

My absolute favourite things are Andrew (my fiancé and best friend) Penner (our cat) and travel experiences that leave my soul feeling just a little bit richer! Also Homesense is a not so secret obsession of mine as well 🤫

Things I really dislike… Math! I had to go to summer school every single year from grade 9-12 for math. Super ironic because my mom is an accountant 🤷🏻‍♀️
Cold weather… I was not built for the cold, period!

Lesser known facts about me. My middle name is Madonna (named after my dad’s mom, not the singer). I’ve had hair extensions for about 12 years now because I suffer from female pattern hair loss. (I am actually looking into wigs now but haven’t found the courage to shave my hair off completely just yet). I remember all song lyrics and movie scripts after hearing them once. When I was younger it drove my piano teacher crazy that I would play by ear instead of reading the actual music. As an adult, it drives Andrew crazy that I sing along to every song on the radio and quote the dialogue word for word as we watch movies. It would have been nice if this could have helped me out with high school math 😂

The number one thing I hear on overcast weddings days is…You must be so happy, photographers love cloudy days right? While clouds certainly make things easier (when we don’t have control over the direction of the light) I absolutely LOVE harsh sunlight! I mean, just look at this magic!

Also can we just take a minute to talk about Jenny’s dress!? What an absolute goddess!

I’ve gone back and forth about sharing all my amazing weddings from my last official year in Alberta, and I’ve finally made the decision. I’m sharing them! I am so grateful to have worked with so many wonderful AB couples and venues through the years and this past year was one no exception! Although I will not be taking on any new AB weddings, these deserve to be seen by the world and I can’t wait to share them all with you!

Whew! Does anyone else feel like this entire year went by so fast it was a blur? It was such a crazy busy year for us and traveling to California for Jenny & Tom’s anniversary shoot ended it on such a sweet note. Bring on 2023!
Oh, and speaking of 2023… I am half way booked up and only have a few spring dates left. Spring weddings are super popular in the Okanagan so if you’re waiting to book your vendors don’t wait much longer!

Rooftop venues are my absolute fav for alfresco receptions, it feels like you’re dining on top of the world!

Also I love candid moments like these. Although it’s kind of an Instagram vs reality moment because this group clearly seen me with my camera so I had to say “keep dining like I’m not here.” 😂

Finding areas around the Okanagan that look European are always the best kind of surprise. The patio at overlooks the lake and has crazy beautiful European vibes. Not to mention their rooftop venue, but I’ll save that for another day ;)

Ceremony Tip: Light often plays such an important part in how outdoor ceremony photos turn out, regardless of the season. If a golden hour ceremony doesn’t work for your wedding schedule, try to find a venue with open shade (think shady sides of structures, large trees etc) to prevent uneven light and squinty eyes. If no shade is available, always place the sun behind the alter. provides the perfect venue for an outdoor ceremony, just look at that dreamy light!

Finally starting to catch up on this years blogging! Taylor and Everett’s wedding was not only beautiful, it was also the first official wedding at Candice] new venue! Family was such an important part of their day. From the venue, florals and decor to the videography and time honoured traditions, family touched every part of their wedding day celebration. Taylor’s sister is a very talented floral designer and owner of CC Bloom. She made sure every single detail was personal and thoughtful for her little sisters big day.
