Every spring, like a 'right of passage' I go out to the same pasture to get my crocus "fix"... This year, I convinced my daughter that an hour's drive on a windy, overcast day with cameras in the back seat, was a fun thing to do. (She eventually came around to my way of thinking!) Oh yes, I had to sneak a church into our travels.

I have been so busy with community stuff all winter - I really miss getting out with my camera ... I just had to make time for the annual orchid show at the Enjoy Centre in St Albert. I am so excited about taking photos again, i had to post some from the orchid show even though I am still post processing.

These spring time flowers bring back many memories of growing up on a farm in southern Saskatchewan. Its prairie population has declined greatly since pioneer days because wild crocuses grows only on native prairie sod, most of which has been ploughed or cultivated.
