This is what I usually do when I ask a friend, or even a stranger, to take our photo with my Nikon D850.

First, I ask my wife to stand exactly where I want her in the frame. Then I compose the shot myself.

After that, I lock the focus on her face and make sure the focus point (that little rectangle) is right on her face. Then I switch the lens from autofocus to manual focus so the camera won’t try to refocus when someone else presses the shutter.

Now all I have to do is ask the make-shift photographer to stand exactly where I was standing, place the focus point on her face, and press the shutter.

Voilà. 9 out of 10 times, the photo comes out almost perfect. Sometimes I only need to straighten the horizon a little or do some minor cropping.

If you also struggle to be in your own family photos, give this trick a try. It actually works 🙂

If you know any other trick, please do share 🙂

“He cannot stand still for even a second. It’s going to be very difficult for you to take his photos.”

That’s what his mom told me before we started the shoot. 😄

But honestly, it took me may be five minutes to become his friend. After that, little Aaron was listening to everything I asked him to do, giving the cutest expressions, and completely owning the session like a pro model.

And when I came home to edit the photos, I realized I ended up editing almost double the number of photos included in the package. But I did it happily, because honestly, I can do anything for a new little friend I meet during a shoot. Especially a four-year-old superstar like Aaron. ❤️

Thank you Amilia and Michael for trusting me with your family photos. It was truly such a wonderful experience spending time with you all.

Looking forward to many more shoots and many more memories together.

While going through our old message thread, Amilia reminded me that we actually started planning the photoshoot back in 2021; even before their handsome little boy was born ❤️

Well, better late than never.

We finally made it happen at Guildwood, and honestly, it felt less like a photoshoot and more like spending a beautiful morning with good people. Aaron completely stole the show with his endless energy, expressions, and little moments of mastani. 😄

I was honestly confused whether to post the family photos first or Aaron’s solo ones. But decided to keep you all waiting a little longer for his set, because every single photo of him deserves its own spotlight.

Thank you, Amilia and Michael, for the laughter, warmth, and such a lovely time together. Hoping our paths cross again very soon ❤️

Honduras 🇭🇳 was never really on my bucket list. Honestly, it wasn’t even on any list. But the moment we set foot in Roatán, we completely fell in love with the island, its breathtaking beauty, and the warmth of its people. ❤️

Here are some glimpses from the few places we managed to explore during our short visit. Not sure if life will bring us back here again, but one thing is certain, Honduras will always hold a special place in our hearts.

A special thanks to Jennifer, our wonderful guide from Roátana Tours & Travels (RTT), for making our experience so memorable

I did not take these photos!

As a photographer, I’m usually the one behind the camera. So when I came back from the trip and started downloading all the photos, I suddenly found a few beautiful shots that I had absolutely no memory of taking. 😄

At first, I was genuinely confused. The framing, the timing, the focus on the flying birds... they were surprisingly good. Then a few photos later, I found one picture of my daughter pointing the camera toward a mirror and taking a photo of herself. That’s when I realized… she was the photographer behind these shots all along.

What surprised me even more is that I never really gave her any proper camera training. She was using my Nikon with the Sigma 105mm ART lens, which is not exactly a light or beginner-friendly setup. Keeping focus on moving birds with that combination is not easy at all.

But I guess kids sometimes just surprise you. They learn things so naturally, so quickly, and sometimes beautifully beyond expectations.

I’m honestly so proud of her. Photography may have quietly found its way into her heart too. And after seeing these photos, I just couldn’t help sharing them with you all. ❤️

When you’re on a tour, you obviously don’t carry your entire lighting setup everywhere.

But then again; who needs expensive lights when your friends come with built-in iPhone flashlights? 😄

This was during twilight on one of the cruise decks. The sky was unreal, the sun was setting beautifully, and the whole place looked way too cinematic to not take photos.

Only issue? The sunset was doing its job a little too well and turning everyone into silhouettes 😅

So a "production team" was formed immediately. Two friends volunteered as human light stands with their iPhone torches, and honestly, they nailed it 😂

No softboxes, no LEDs, no fancy setup. Just random creativity, true friends, and vibes.

Well done, boys! You have a career!
