Mav and I would like to thank those of you who have made it to our donor page for the Coldest Night of the Year, (An International Fundraiser) and followed up by sponsoring us as part of the Creekside Church CK team! We are raising money for those in need through a great local initiative called NeighbourLink here in Chatham.

I also appreciate those who have attempted to do so, but have had difficulty following the rather complicated link left on my last post.
Here is one I made through the CNOY website which might prove easier.
Fundraising for has been so successful that I have increased our goal from $300 to $500. Please help us have to raise that goal even more.
Thank You to you all!

A very rare un-restored vacuum tube radio from the 1940's. Nice looking 1946 "as found" condition "Philco Transitone 46-250 Radio, not sure if working although lights go on inside the radio, when briefly plugged in (unfamiliar with Radio Tubes, thus didn't tinker with it). Makes great decorative pie...

A magical late April Snowfall leaves Chatham's historic Victoria Ave., a photographer's dream, as frozen Magnolia's, Redbud's and Pears, create a bittersweet palette of whites and purples.

After a mystical overnight April Snowfall, in the silent Pre-Dawn hour when few eyes were upon them, no one could doubt the "Spirit" lineage of these rare Indigenous Ojibwe Ponies! Found just a few years ago in Northwestern Ontario and brought back to Chatham-Kent as a flourishing herd by Terry Jenkins of TJ Stables, many foals have since joined the herd.
Not so long ago, their ancestors once roamed free on the Un-ceded lands of Walpole Island First Nations, and indeed generations ago throughout the Great Lakes Region as a whole, in a spiritual working relationship of mutual trust and care with the native peoples who were stewards of the land.

The ponies seen here are all broodmares of various ages, and jealousy over this year's first born is clearly apparent.
As in any herd, hierarchy is all important, and much energy is expelled in the dramatic staging of "boss mares" even towards the very young to ensure their status as leader is assured.

Low light, dark horses, and white snow, make for fun and challenging moving targets, but once the sun emerged and the herd settled to enjoy the warmth of its rays (as indeed did I), the beautiful duns, grullos and blood bays began to emerge as the ancient colours of these unusual little ponies became apparent.

The newest arrival with the short English name of Jem, and whose native name I have not the skill to pronounce or spell in its beauty, is a perfect mirror image of her wild forebears.

My beautiful Papillon just belongs in Autumn leaves even if they wreak havoc with his coat. At two and a half years old, he has reached the age of wonder for dogs. He is absolutely perfect. His expressive eyes show the warmth of his personality, while his high carried tail belies his playful personality. Papillons are terrific companions!

Jaida Mayhew works at TJ Stables where she part boards Kyle, an off track Thoroughbred from Jahleela Demattos, one of the Instructors, also employed at TJ Stables.
The lovely old growth forest through which Terry Jenkins takes her trail riders, makes for an enchanting backdrop with golden late summer sun, and verdant green. Contrasts were challenging, but it was a fun "au natural" summer shoot.
