The Reality Check ⛏️🔦

We took things from the studio directly to the extraction zone. For this part of the shoot, Aaron () dropped the tailored suit and geared up for his actual day-to-day. He’s a miner up in Northern BC, and we wanted to capture that raw reality in the frames.

People love throwing around the phrase "Dirty Hands, Clean Money," so we built this setup around that exact vibe. Same twenty years of brotherhood, same chemistry behind the lens, but an entirely different environment. The contrast between the premium, high-stakes Luchador gold and this rugged, dust-heavy look is exactly why we keep pushing this creative journey forward.

Five years in the game, and we’re still finding new ways to evolve. 🎬🔥

They said it was just a home studio. I said it was a canvas. 🎨

When VICTORIA🦋 came through to shoot, the energy completely shifted. It felt like stepping straight into a scene from Encanto—warm, glowing, and pure magic. 🌸✨

Victoria is a force of nature. Fresh out of graduation and already a dedicated advocate for so many, she is undoubtedly going to change the world. 🌍 It was an honour to capture her spirit in this series. We didn’t just take photos; we created an atmosphere. At THT Labs, we don't do "average." We define the standard. ⚡️

Sunday Shadows

There’s a completely different rhythm to a Sunday night cruise down Main Street. The weekend is winding down, the traffic thins out, and the late-evening sun throws these massive, stretching shadows across the cracked asphalt. It strips the scene down to just the pure mechanics of the ride and the quiet atmosphere of the open road.

I took to the air to experiment with this top-down perspective, capturing the natural grit of the commute strictly in-camera. This whole sequence is actually a test run for a secret project I’ve been kicking around. I'm not entirely sure where it’s going to lead yet, or if it will even see the light of day, but there’s something incredibly satisfying about chasing these fleeting weekend moments from above. Let's see where the road goes. 🤫🚁🛣️📸

There is something incredibly humbling about flying through history. 🕰️ Standing at the base of the old CPR Weston Shops powerhouse, these two massive smokestacks look like silent giants keeping watch over the rail yards. From the ground, the gap between them looks impossibly tight, but once you get up in the air, the true scale of this place reveals itself. 🏭☁️

I sent the Mini 5 Pro up to see just how much breathing room we actually had. Hitting that automated helix and watching the drone carve a perfect, sweeping orbit around the weathered brickwork was surreal. 🚁✨ It is a beautiful contrast—century-old industrial might meeting modern technology, capturing a perspective that was impossible to see when these fires were still burning.

This past week was heavy, so getting out for a proper weekend reset was mandatory. Headed out to Pineridge Hollow to clear the head, check out the market, and support local. Finally picked up a pair of shorts from Keep It 204 Originals—Julian and Jamie make some incredibly well-crafted gear, and it was cool grabbing a pair I’d actually watched being made on their IG story. We ran into family while we were there, too (and I got a quick reminder that at nearly 6'1", it's not often I have to look up to anyone, but my cousin has me beat at 6'3"—and for a female, that is serious height! 🤣😜).

Fueled up afterwards with Nuburger and a flight of local beers, then took a drive down Garvin Rd to get the 360 drone up in the air. Manitoba has some surreal hidden spots. If you're wondering why the water in the video looks like a tropical oasis, it's a sand and gravel quarry. Because they dig below the natural water table, pure groundwater fills the pit. The sunlight hits microscopic mineral particles suspended in the pure water, reflecting the blue and green wavelengths straight back at the camera. It gives it that unreal, vibrant turquoise colour right in our own backyard.
