I don’t normally say this, but you NEED to scroll… and maybe grab a cozy drink first.

Abbi and Gabriel are the kind of couple whose energy is contagious. You can see how much they love each other, how they build off one another, and honestly, it was such a joy to just be a bit of a third wheel during their engagement session 🫶🏽

Fun fact: Abbi and I went off our inquiry call one day and discovered we actually went to summer camp together back in the day. I mean… what are the odds of that?! 😂

Originally we were planning for tall grassy fields, but with all the snow that week, Birds Hill decided to give us a winter wonderland instead, and I am so glad it did. Between the towering trees, the fresh snow, and a whole flock of chickadees watching how cute these two were, some of my favourite photos of the year were created!

The whole session felt playful, adventurous, and just plain joyful. Honestly, moments like these are why I love photographing love stories.

So for all the couples scrolling through: imagine your story in a place that inspires you, where the little unexpected things like snow, wildlife, and memories make your session uniquely yours.

It’s wedding day for Malena + Brendan!

When I first met these two for their engagement session, I knew it was going to be fun. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever heard so much giggling in one session!! I couldn’t help but smile just being near it. It made photographing their engagement session so sweet!

And that’s one of my favourite parts of engagement sessions, you get time to be yourselves, practice being in front of the camera before your wedding day, and leave with photos that feel like you. Every single one of my wedding packages includes an engagement session for this very reason. Because I want you to have those sweet, candid moments documented before the wedding too.

Today, these two say “I do,” and I cannot wait to celebrate them all over again!

I was originally supposed to photograph Lindsay and Dan’s wedding in Niverville. Can you believe that?! Lindsay called me out of the blue and asked if I’d be down to shoot their elopement instead. At first I thought she meant somewhere local in Manitoba, but nope, she meant Banff. And just like that, we started planning their mountain adventure together!

Fast forward to August, we left our cabins at Cathedral Mountain Lodge before the sun was up and drove to Moraine Lake in the dark. The air was cold (Lindsay is a trooper y’all!) the parking lot was already buzzing, and then the sun finally hit the peaks. That view is worth every second of lost sleep.

From there, we headed back to Emerald Lake where the morning light was so bright on the water. We grabbed a coffee, laughed together, and just took in the quiet moments on the shoreline. No big schedule, no pressure, just them being fully present.

And because one epic stop wasn’t enough, we ended the day at Takakkaw Falls in Yoho. Mist was everywhere, and they just held onto each other while the water crashed down behind them. We even met some sweet couples there at the falls, it was such a chill day all together!

That’s what I love most about elopements, the freedom to create a day that feels exactly like you. Mountains, lakes, coffee breaks, waterfalls, whatever tells your story. This is a shoot I will always remember thanks to Lindsay and Dan!

This weekend I photographed a wedding at Evergreen Village in Niverville, Manitoba, and wow. It was such a reminder of how sweet marriage is.

It’s been a heavy week, and stepping into this day honestly felt like a gift. From the very start, you could feel the intentionality in every part of it. The groomsmen gathered to pray over Ben before the ceremony, his dad married them and spoke such a meaningful message over their future and marriage, and before they said their vows, they took time to worship together with their people. Even their guestbook was a Bible where everyone could highlight their favourite verse, it was the sweetest picture of their faith.

Their family and friends showed up with so much joy, fully present to celebrate. And watching Ben and Gabi together, every smile, every quiet glance, it was so clear how deeply they love each other 💗

I shared their story in black and white because it felt right. Timeless, honest, and simple. Just like their love 🥹

Golden hour isn’t just light. It's the moments in between.

That soft glow that wraps around you, the laughter no one else sees, the quiet seconds where it’s just the two of you, and your husband just admiring you (I mean look at Adrian in slide 10 🙈) Those are the memories that stick! It's not the linen fabric you went with, flowers, or venue price tag.

I love pulling couples away from the noise of the day to soak in the last bit of sunlight together. Those 30 minutes often become the part of the day everyone remembers most.
