Standing Guard Over The Garden Winnipeg, Manitoba

Whenever I'm in my yard, this English sparrow (house sparrow) perches on this garden hook, turning its head in small, careful arcs, one eye on the soil below and the other on the sky above. It stands like a quiet sentry keeping guard on the garden and surrounding area on a late afternoon.
