From the fall 2023 migration at Oak Hammock, I caught one Canada Goose doing his impression of a float plane landing, and another goose seemingly "checking out" his swimming partner's butt (I'm assuming it's a him). 🤣

While checking out the Powerview-Pine Falls damn last summer, we got to watch some expert fish catchers (American White Pelicans) at the base of the damn.

From last spring, about 3 years ago we started getting a regular visit from a pair of Mallard Ducks to our pool, or at least to the winter cover on our pool.

Winter always gives me an opportunity to spend time going back thru my older photos to see what I've missed, or might be able to rescue. This group of photos are birds from our many tropical trips south.

Identification as follows:

1. American Kestrel (Cuban)
2. Yucatan Jay
3. Jamaican Blackbird
4. Blue-footed B***y
5. Red-vented Bulbul
6. Hispaniolan Mango (hummingbird)
7. Common Myna

Please point out any errors above. :)

Just before Christmas, we had a number of Blue Jays & Crows seemingly working together to do... something. That something turned out to be an uninvited guest in our Spruce tree... a Great-horned Owl.

I'm always amazed at how resilient some of the birds are here, especially during the winter. This Downy Woodpecker was looking for food in our Birch tree even though it was super cold.

We have several Ruby-throated Hummingbirds hanging around the feeder at our campsite. At one point we had three on the feeder at the same time... but not for long as one would drive the other two off.

I did manage to catch one sticking out it's tongue (taken from inside the camper so it's not very clear).

I've never been very good at insect identification but I "think" this is a Comma, not sure which variant? Anyone? This one was spotted at my seasonal campsite near Victoria Beach.
