In August Heather and Rob received a call from their photographer the day before their wedding canceling on the couple. In what I can only imagine was a frantic moment with less than 12hours before their wedding they reached out for help. Thankfully my fiancé noticed and asked me what we were doing the next day. Well my heart sank when I heard the news and made myself available for Heather and Rob. Never meeting them before the wedding posed a different challenge as I like to meet the couple before hand so I get to know them. But the wedding went off without another hitch and I was able to capture some great memories from the day and make a very nervous family smile, laugh and enjoy the day. I finally had the opportunity to try a little starlight photography out at the cabin tonight. I think they turned out well. I'm excited to try it out again soon. Photos were taken with a Sony Alpha A77 with a Tameron 17-50mm f2.8 lens.

Update - Heather and Rob are a beautiful couple. That have 3 lovely children. After talking with the couple for a few minutes I found out that the photographer that they did hire originally messaged them early in the day yesterday saying that there was a medical emergency. This made Heather very nervous all day, especially since the photographer wouldn’t return her calls all day until canceling on the couple at 10pm yesterday night. The photographer was part of a larger photography company. From what I did find out. The original photographer had a MI (heart attack) so I apologize for my previous comment about leaving Heather and Rob without options. Somethings can’t be predicted.

The day went on without any more problems and I was able to capture the moments of the day and have the entire family laughing, smiling and enjoying the day. I am a bit behind on photo editing but be assured I will get infront of the computer and some memorable images out to everyone as soon as I can.

As a small preview here is an image from my camera of Heather and Rob’s youngest getting busted tasting the cake before it was “cake time” !!!

I am here at Fort Gibraltar to photograph Heather and Robb’s wedding on this beautiful Sunday morning. This is a couple I have never met. The photographer they did book canceled on them with less than 12 hours before their wedding. No photographer should ever leave a bride and groom hanging like that. I hope I can make their day a fun memorable experience today.

I would like to take the opportunity to congratulate all the recipiants of the Manitoba EMS Exemplary Service Medal at last nights gala at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights. For those that don't know about this medal, It is awarded by the Lieutenant Governor to the men and women that have served as a paramedic in Manitoba for a minimum of 20 years! There are also some that have recived the honour of 30 years, and 40 years distinction.

It was truly an honour that I was chosen to photograph this event and the amazing paramedics that serve Manitoba. I would like to thank Loren Bacala for being my second eyes and ears over the evening and helping photograph this event. More photos to come shortly

It is with great honour that I am announcing that DH Photography has been requested to photograph the 2022 Manitoba EMS Exemplary Service Medal Ceremony on June 9th Canadian Museum for Human Rights. These medals are given to some of the Paramedics that have served a minimum of 20 years to the people of Manitoba that have done some amazing things in their careers. I am so grateful that I will be able to capture the moments of the evening. These are some photos from ceremonies from the past years.

Last week some of the most influential and brilliant people across Canada came together in Winnipeg for the Canadian National Paramedic Conference . On the Friday night, some of these paramedics were recognized for their continued involvement in bettering the paramedic profession and to congratulate them on some of the amazing work they do.

Some more great images from !! Opening Ceremonies. Speeches from the Manitoba Provincial Health Minister, Manitoba Grand Cheif and the Deputy Mayor of Winnipeg. All from Friday Day 3 of the Canadian National Paramedic Seminar from Winnipeg, MB Canada.

Also a huge Thumbs up to the final 3 teams in the Simulation Competition. Not only did they have to perform under the scrutiny of Emergency Physicians and Paramedic Educators judging them, but they also were mic'd and had cameras on them to project what the medics were seeing live in the moment. Also having to perform on the main stage in-front of all your paramedic, nurse, and physician peers from across Canada!!! No pressure at all!!.....
