One of my favorite things to do in the summer is to see some local CAR RACING at Victory Lane Speedway.
A fabulous Thursday evening, and I managed to take a number of photos of the action.
My viewpoint was only from the spectator stands, so I had limited, clear views of the action.

Had a great time popping into the Red River Ex. to see the Awards being handed out for their annual photo competition.
I had the pleasure of being one of the judges several weeks ago.
Also got to see my fellow PPOC friends, Becky Fleury and Jocelyne Hebert.
Even got a special ride from my car to the entrance in a vintage train.

Had a great time today judging the annual Red River Ex Photography competition at the .
I was joined by fellow PPOC member to judge some incredible images.
This in-person judging is always so special.
Appreciate all the hard work from the photographers behind the scenes that organize the entire event.

Had the privilege of attending an Opening Screening of some independent films from Not Yet Cinema at the Park Theatre in Wpg. One of the actors (Mika Pooley) was a client of mine and had come in to the studio for some actor headshots.
He ended up getting a speaking role in TWO MOVIES, namely THE INSURANCE CALL, and THE NUTBARN.
You can see him on both posters (holding the phone in BW).
He credited having an awesome headshot as a factor in landing his roles.

Kept this little secret for a while now…
Congrats to my dear friend Emma Poole, who in her very first Pinup Shoot, she was PUBLISHED in BOMBSHELL Magazine.
We both love Formula 1 Racing, so this Racing Theme was the perfect idea.

Had an incredible few days last week in Saskatoon for the annual Canadian Image Conference & Expo put on by the Professional Photographers of Canada PPOC.
Had a couple of exciting moments:
I received my SPA Service of Photographic Arts designation which I value very highly. One receives this honour after volunteering (a certain amount of time) for the organization and giving back to the fellow members.
I also had a big surprise when I found out that my Press image called “At The Mercy Of The Best” was accepted into the LOAN COLLECTION.
The Loan Collection is the Top 40 images in this year’s National Image Competition. Never had that before 😀.

What an incredible array of speakers at this year’s annual CICE Canadian Imaging Conference & Expo 2026 for the Professional Photographers of Canada PPOC Professional Photographers of Canada

As a member of the Professional Photographers of Canada (PPOC), we have an annual National Image Competition at the beginning of the year. The images are judged by trained judges, and the awards will be presented on April 18th at our National Convention in Saskatoon.
I'm excited to announce that all 4 of my images were accepted into the National Image Salon. To be accepted, you must earn either an ACCEPTED SCORE (Bronze), a MERIT SCORE (Silver), or an EXCELLENCE SCORE (Gold).
It was personally very exciting to have an image from my recent Israel trip to be part of the accepted images. This was a photo of the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem.
I am also a Finalist for the Best In Class Award for the PRESS Class. It's an honour to be a finalist with these other exceptional photographers.
Can't wait to see everybody in Saskatoon!
