I think it's safe to call this session "Making The Best Of A Very Bad Day"!
Jennifer and her beautiful family met us in Assiniboine Park for a family session, and though both Jennifer and I did our best to prepare for the day, it didn't work out for everyone! Such is life, am I right? The sweet little baby was cranky and cold, and there were not enough comforting cuddles, noisy musical toys, goofy faces and silly dances to make him feel better. The toddler (with the most adorable head of curls I've ever seen!) had decided to skip his morning nap, and boy, was he ever displeased with how his day was going! Consequently, the parents were frazzled and in a rush to get back home. Sessions can always be rescheduled (at no cost), but we all decided that we would do our best to get at least a few photos in. Jennifer and her husband had the patience of saints as the wind picked up and the clouds overhead threatened a downpour at any moment. I managed to get a few smiles from the kids, and won over the oldest with the bribe of a Tootsie Roll Pop, but the curly-haired toddler was very much on the verge - until the last few minutes. Momma started packing up, so Mike and I figured the boys deserved a mini jam session. Out came the Guitar Hero guitar, into the hands of the teary-eyed little man, and suddenly, there they were, smiles from ear to ear! Let me tell you, that kid was born to rock! You've never seen a kid so happy to be holding an instrument (is he the future Dimebag Darrell??), and I was beyond happy to finally capture his sweet little smile on camera for his very proud and very frustrated Mom!
Moral of the story: Having a hard day? ROCK OUT! It makes life a lot sweeter!
