If you choose Mother Earth as your Valentine every day, you’ll love and appreciate the hard work that Derek and Tannis Axten are constantly pouring into their 10 acres of fertile farmland. 🌱

In honor of National Regenerative Agriculture Day, we’re celebrating - Canada’s first certified Regenified farm. Last summer, we had the privilege of capturing a glimpse of their operation for , a great organization that supports farmers in implementing nature-based solutions that sustain both agriculture and biodiversity.

Their inspiring work was also featured in Farming For Tomorrow Magazine, last September.

Thank you, Derek and Tannis, for investing in healthier soil, better food, and a stronger future for the next generation.

The Canadian Museum for Human Rights was gracious enough to let us host the premiere event for our documentary project - Sidelined: The Color of The Game; with community members, athletes and loved ones in attendance.

This film was a collaboration with the phenomenal Anti-Racism in Sport organization, which seeks to promote and engage in discussions on racism in sport and its impact on people’s lives. They help to identify and disrupt all forms of racism through research, school presentations, stakeholder training and public awareness campaigns.

This documentary is meant to highlight the work that still needs to be done to address racism in Canadian sport, in an effort to reduce the awful, long-lasting effects on athletes, individuals and communities. The 50-minute film explores the the systemic barriers faced by First Nations, Métis Nation, Inuit, Black, Racialized, and Religious Minority participants in the field of play.

I want to give huge thanks to the athletes, researchers, coaches and sport officials for sharing their experience, and to everyone that had a hand in making this film happen.

The film is currently making its festival run.

“Giselle is such an iconic, romantic ballet. I think it’s certainly one of the most iconic romantic ballets that exists. It was first staged in the 1840’s and its definitely withstood the test of time for a reason. I think this ballet is so beautiful and I think audiences really resonate with it because it tells such a clear story of love, betrayal, jealousy, revenge, and I think everybody in the audience can certainly relate to those feelings. But for me, I feel like dance can really highlight emotions, even more than words, so I feel like people can really feel the emotions that are happening on stage and might be even more moved by them. So I feel like that’s why this ballet is so incredible and so beautiful.” - Vanessa Léonard

The Winnipeg Art Gallery has been an important part of our city’s cultural identity for over 110 years. This video was made to serve as a bit of an introduction to those that have never been. With exciting new exhibits, free events and programming, good eats at Katita and “sneaky” souvenirs at the gift shop, this is truly a space for everybody.

I’m quite fond of Wag-Qaumajuq and of all the people that helped make this video possible. If you haven’t paid a visit in a while (or ever) and were thinking of coming down, you definitely should. Bring a friend, take in the space, enjoy a latte, and rinse and repeat the following week.
