I was able to tag along on a 3-ship formation practice this afternoon. CHAA has recently resumed flight ops, and this was the first of many formation practice flights.

I was lucky enough to go along on a 3 ship formation flight, and made arrangements to have both of CHAA's airworthy Harvard Mk II's as #2 & 3 in order to photograph them in the air together. :-)

I was extremely lucky to be asked along for a T-28 formation practice today.

Danny Richer and Alf Beam have been flying their T-28's quite a lot, practicing to NATA and FAST formation standards. We departed from Tillsonburg and practiced formation flying for over an hour, slowly making our way to Alf's home airstrip near Fort Erie. The blue T-28C seen in the photos is owned by Alf.

The CHAA Formation Team completed another 4 ship practice on Saturday afternoon in preparation for their appearance at the Geneseo Air Show (aka 'The Greatest Show on Turf') next weekend.

This particular practice was special as it was the first time in almost three years to include Harvard 3830, which returned to the air this week following the installation of an overhauled engine.

The guys did pretty good for their first time in a while! The lead Harvard was a visitor from Fort Erie, although hopefully CHAA should have four of their own Harvards online shortly...

CHAA completed two Harvard flights on a chilly February 17th.

The first flight was a maintenance test flight for Bessy, and the other was a revenue flight for the backseater's 50th birthday.

Today CHAA's formation team combined a couple of air show practices with a Canada Day flyover in the same flight, and I was lucky enough to be able to tag along.

The 4th aircraft in the formation is a One Design owned and flown by CHAA's Chief Pilot Scott, and was filling in for a spot normally taken by another Harvard. Following the show practices, Scott landed and the three Harvards headed south towards Lake Erie for the flypast at Port Burwell.

My main focus for this flight was getting air-to-air photos of AJ583, which returned to the skies in early June following the installation of an overhauled engine.
