If someone asks me where to get married in Italy I’m going to say Tuscany every single time.

I’ve been lucky enough to shoot in Lake Como, Sicily, and a small town called Lamezia Terme south of Naples. Every corner of Italy feels different and Tuscany is its own thing entirely. Cypress trees, vineyard views, mountains in the distance, and the fooood đŸ€€ (literally had the best ravioli in my life for 5€ haha) The Florentine influence is everywhere and it shows

Sam, Jackson and all their guests brought the energy for the entire 3 day wedding weekend. From the welcome dinner, to the wedding and a group trip to Siena, the whole experience was literally incredible and by the end of the trip, it felt like everybody there was family.

Their wedding was at a private villa in the Tuscan countryside, completely tucked away from the world and overlooking rows of vines and olive trees. The whole place was theirs for the weekend and looked absolutely stunning

A lot of people think beautiful flat lay photos just come together effortlessly.

They don’t (trust me on this one, it’s harder than it looks 😂)

Early on in my career, I was completely lost when it came to flat lays. I’d look at other photographers’ work and think, “How does everything fit together so perfectly? Mine look like chicken scratch.”

Even after years of practise, I can still humbly admit that my team is way better at flat lays than I am 😂

But here’s the thing — if you want a beautiful flat lay photo at your wedding, the best thing you can do is have everything organized and ready when your photographer arrives.

Put everything you’re wearing, holding and spent money on in a box and set it aside. Invitations, shoes, perfume, loose flowers, give us everything and well organize it

Trust me, you do not want to be searching for these things all over the house while you’re getting ready. It’s a huge time waster and you should be drinking Mimosas instead of running up and down the stairs. đŸ’đŸ»â€â™‚ïž

Do yourself a favor: keep everything organized and ready to go.

If you want golden hour photos at your wedding, but you’re not sure when to do them. This is for you ☀

The most common mistake couples make is looking up “sunset on your wedding day” online and seeing, for example, “8:53,” and assuming that’s when you should do golden hour photos.

That’s actually wrong.

That time is when the sun has fully set below the horizon. Golden hour is officially over.

The best golden hour light is when the sun is low in the sky — not when it’s below the horizon. Think of golden hour as ending about 20 minutes before sunset actually happens. That’s when you’ll get the most golden, beautiful sunlight that makes skin look glowy, warm, and incredible.

Second thing is you need to account for mountains and tall buildings.

In Vancouver, the sun drops below the mountains 45 minutes before it dips below the horizon. In Toronto, if you’re shooting downtown, condos and buildings will block the light way earlier than you think.

Plan ahead. This is one of those things most couples don’t think about but it makes a huge difference.

A few more of our favorite highlights from Alexia and Marc Anthony’s wedding including my favorite film photo from their wedding (last slide)

This wedding was all about vibes, and I love how the texture and unique qualities of film photography matched their aesthetic and energy. Film brings a nostalgic, one-of-a-kind feeling to an image in a way nothing else can. It’s the imperfections of film that make it perfect.

One trend I’m seeing that I absolutely love: smaller weddings.

Instead of 150 guests, couples are keeping it closer to 80-90 guests, and most of them are actually close friends and family.

With fewer people, the connection between the couple and each guest feels stronger. They can spend real time with the people who matter most instead of speed-running conversations all night.

I also LOVE that couples are choosing premium restaurants and beautiful hotels over traditional banquet halls. The focus is shifting toward great dining and a more curated experience.

That said, it’s also so fun when couples go the complete opposite direction — 250 to 450 guests, making it as wild and extravagant as possible. The energy in a room with 400 people is electric and there’s nothing quite like it

Both approaches work. It just depends on what actually feels like you.

“What’s the most unique thing you’ve ever seen at a wedding?”

Honestly? That one stumped me.

I’ve seen grooms pass out mid-ceremony. Rings get lost. Family drama that could be its own Netflix series.

But a fully operational tank carrying 30 people into the Grand Entrance definitely takes the cake for me.

Never even seen a tank in real life — let alone one being used as wedding transportation.

Marie and Dustin’s wedding was wild in the best way. It wasn’t trying to be elegant or a rager. It was both. Scenic mountain views during the day, absolute chaos at night. Like a destination wedding crossed with an epic camping trip.

And ending the night at 3 a.m. around a campfire, cracking beers and sharing stories about how people knew them, that’s the kind of wedding experience you don’t forget (last slide)

Congratulations to Marc Anthony and Alexia!

I still don’t fully know how it happened but Italian weddings have become “our thing”

And honestly every time we shoot one I remember why. I love how packed the rooms are. I love how loud it gets. The food? Come on. The music never stops and the energy of everyone’s families coming together is just something else.

Alexia and Marc Anthony’s wedding was SO fun and we knew from the morning it was going to be a GREAT time. đŸŸđŸ”„

Modern cameras capture every pore. Beautiful, but kind of clinical. A 90s camcorder captures something else — the feeling of a memory. Slightly blurry, a little grainy, weirdly emotional. Like watching your parents’ wedding tape. That’s the point.
