Have you ever wanted to grow your own vegetables, herbs, or flowers? The CGB Community Garden Hub at 580 Algonquin Ave. has garden plots available for community groups and organizations this growing season.

Whether you're an experienced gardener or just getting started, this is a great opportunity to learn, grow fresh food, and connect with your community.

We'd also love to welcome volunteers who want to help maintain the garden, support community events, and make this space thrive.

CGB Community Garden Hub Cleaning Blitz!

Got a green thumb, or want to grow one? Join us for a day of gardening, learning, and community as we get the garden ready for the season!

🗓 Date: Saturday, May 2, 2026
🕙 Time: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM (drop in anytime!)
📍 Location: 580 Algonquin St
(Parking available on Anne St or at Algonquin High School)

Help with raking, weeding, pruning, and general garden clean-up. All skill levels welcome!

PLUS a Pruning Workshop: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Spots are limited!

📌We're hiring!

The North Bay and Area Community Foundation is hiring one summer student through Canada Summer Jobs to be our Fundraising Campaign Organizer and work closely with our Executive Director to plan this year's annual gala.

📍 In-Person at our North Bay office
🗓 12-week contract starting June 1st
❗️Applications open until May 15th.

This role is very hands-on and centered on a real campaign with donor relations and many skills crucial to nonprofit fundraising.

This role is designed to build practical, transferable skills in:
• Donor relations and professional communication
• Campaign and event planning
• Digital marketing and content creation
• Budget tracking and data management

We’re looking for someone who:

• Is eligible for the Canada Summer Jobs program (see the link below for specifics)
• Is comfortable communicating with donors and community members
• Can stay organized while managing multiple moving pieces
• Is confident using (or learning) digital tools like spreadsheets and social platforms
• Is comfortable with basic accounting
