What a day…
After a wonderfull morning and 4h on the road, the moto stopped for no apparent reason.
No more power, no lights on, maybe and old switch or button is having some issues with the more intense driving on the lovely roads this morning.
Since the start it smelled like old eggs when I stopped, I just though it was because I was in small villages with farms and rural fragrances, haha.
I will learn thanks to the amazing community on the Transalp French Group on Facebook that it is a sign that the battery is dying.
After checking it, it was empty, no more liquid inside the battery.
We called some help and we put some water in the battery and the mighty transalp is alive again !
BUT the battery is not the cause of the problem, the « régulateur »is not giving 12V to battery (but a lot more) and that’s what made it dry.
So, I asked again on the Facebook Group if there is someone nearby that has a spare « régulateur » that I can buy.
And there was one, 2h40min from where I was..
So I borrowed the car and drive 5 more hours today to go get it.
Now I have to try to mount it and hope it works 🙏
That’s what it is to ride a vintage bike, and I love it, haha !
